Cabinet before applying for SGC or afterwards?

Probably been asked a hundred times but my search didn't find an answer.

Currently filling in my SGC application and was wondering of I should have my cabinet before sending it off or if it can be purchased after the SGC is granted?

Thanks, Rob

Edit: just realised this is probably the wrong area for this apologies but cant see a way to delete the post.

Pros and cons to both ways of doing it.

If you get the cabinet fitted and you are granted your SGC, then the FEO doesn't have to come back again to see you installed it correctly. So one visit instead of two.

If you aren't granted it for whatever reason, you've got a chunk of metal bolted to the wall that you have to unbolt and sell.

I'd get it and install it first. :good:

I bought my cabinet before my feo visit. I did not have it bolted to the wall when he came to visit and I remember him telling me i was 'getting the carriage before the horse' as he hadn't yet granted my sgc. I told him my understanding was that I needed the security measures in place before the grant and asked if he would need a second visit to deliver my sgc in person and inspect my cabinet installation. He said no, the security was my responsibility. my sgc arrived very quickly in the post- I have not yet had a second visit from feo. I guess it's down to each feo on a case by case basis?
