Decided to get myself a 17hmr to take as I can use it here too and for the smaller ground game it should be a cracking tool. Rang the FLO who said no probes as it's the same band as the 22rf I have just put in a variation. Apparently I won't be able to get rounds for it out there and will be limited to those I can take. The limit is 5kg. Anyone know roughly how many rounds that might be? Was also thinking to get myself something a little special. I have a cz 455 laminate in 22 but something custom might be in order. When you travel be aware that 5kg is a personal limit - however there is ALSO an overall aircraft limit of 25Kg so if there are several shooters and you turn up at check in as the 6th person with 5Kg's of ammo you may be declined the opportunity to take it with you - to avoid this make sure you PRE-BOOK and get confirmation with your tickets including any change over or onward flights if you fly on from a hub?
