Getting land permission outside police force area

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

This has been probably covered somewhere else before.

I'm in South wales and have perms there.

I have the chance of two other perms which come under a different police force.

Will intend to be using 22 lr 17 hmr & 223 if I get them

Question is who do I apply to check if land has been cleared. Is it my police force or the force from that area.

I am not yet on an open ticket

Appreciate any info

I'm under west Mercia but some ground is under Gwent, so I had to ask west Mercia to ask Gwent to get the land cleared then they had to email Mercia stating that it was cleared. But it didn't take long the guys in Gwent are pretty efficient and the FEO had to go to one of the farms due to the farmer renewing his shotgun licence, so he inspected at the same time.

When you say you 'intend to get xyz and you dont have a open ticket'

.Whats on your FAC now? Even if your ticket is closed its no big deal, you ting your force, they check,if cleared they add it to your file.If not cleared they ask that area (that you intend to shoot) to clear it (risk assess). Then once its clears your good to go.If your luck it may be already cleared and if the two forces involved are good the your looking 2/3 days.An open ticket never bothered me and i never felt the need to ask for one.
