The Farmer Called...

I had a call last week from one of the farmers I shoot for. He had been to some of his ground and seen "loads" of pigeons on his stubble turnips. I said Id have a look at the weekend and when Saturday came I headed there and sat and watched for 20 mins. About 20 birds lifted from the field and didn't return. I carried on looking and found very little else where. After an hour I returned to the turnips thinking I'd set up to keep the farmer happy and drove down the edge of the field, to my surprise 100+ pigeons lifted out the trees so I set up in a ditch with the wind off my back. The birds returned well and I had a good few hours shooting but it quickly tailed off. I picked up and had 98 birds so I ran the dogs out again and found another 2 to make the 100. I text the farmer to let him know and he was over the moon.

Cheers

Ben
