I've killed a chicken to pluck and dress for a change from eating bloody rabbit. And if the deer would just play the game we would have one of them in the garage but they're not interested in being my tea yet! We went out last night to show Mrs Benthejockey how well the Yukon scope she bought me worked...fundamental flaw in my plan - she can't see in infra red! Whoops. She loves lamping but after driving across the final field and scooping up rabbit 20 and chucking him at her to put in the bag she wasn't overly enamoured with night vision shooting! Down side of the night for me was I got over excited and missed a fox. I remembered as soon as I pulled the trigger he couldn't see me so I didn't need to rush the shot when he started trotting towards me! Damn! And talk about badger galore, 5 on one 3 acre field, I expect a tb outbreak for that farmer in the near future! I need a recipe for a NV spotter please boys and girls. Rim Fire Posted October 17, 2016 Report Share Posted October 17, 2016 (edited) Well done on the rabbits BUT dont be fooled that Foxes cant see you with NV. Because they can see an IR in the dark so can other animals like Deer Badgers and Boar they can all see the IR some dont react but you get a fox that has been shot at and missed you put an IR on him and watch his reaction all you will see is his back end going away Edited October 17, 2016 by Rim Fire Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Benthejockey Posted October 17, 2016 Author Report Share Posted October 17, 2016 I know they can see infra red and he could probably see me stood next to the fence post I was leaning on because it was a fairly moonlit night but that doesn't fit quite as well as 'he couldn't see me'.
