Possibly a resident as JDog suggested.. we have a couple of pairs which winter nearby...in fact had a Male on the bird table only yesterday eating some left over maggots from my fishing trip last week. !

Great photo !

Please email a copy to the county recorder Steve White on lwildlife@cix.co.uk with a location of its sighting.. I'm sure he will be very pleased to receive it.

Cheers guys! :good:

It was inamongst the numerous sparrows we have in the garden inwas watching them through the lens and saw it. The sparrows chased it away from the bath and it ended up on top of our honeysuckle.

As soon as I saw it I didn't recognise it and thought it was something special. My bird book says that during the autumn they can be found in gardens feeding on honeysuckles.

Thanks for viewing!

Adge, who is that man, sorry?

He's The Lancashire county Bird Recorder...collates all sightings from naturalists and bird watchers and keeps them as records to aid research into population numbers, migration patterns etc. etc. http://www.birdguides.com/sites/area.asp?a=19
