If I were a poacher...

...I'd be eating venison tomorrow!

Popped out with the .22 and a lamp to look for errant rabbits (saw one, missed it) but whilst looking around, I heard a noise. Shining the lamp round I saw two eyes staring at me. Looking through the scope confirmed a roe doe and I managed to get within about 15 yards of her before she bounded away. Lovely to see her taking cover in my newly planted woodland. A few minutes later she'd circled behind me and I could see her for about 10 minutes before she either ran off or was hidden by the terrain.

lovely to see. but you might not appreciate them in your newly planted wood. i have picked up some woodland stalking and the damage is surprising. but saying that as with all nature, if they are not doing any damage there are not many better things than watching them go about there buisness

That's why I bought a .308 earlier this month! :D

Most of the trees are in tubes but the ones in spirals have been quite badly chewed in places. Don't think the management wants me to shoot them here, mind and a difficult thing to keep secret!

If it was on your ground you wouldnt be poaching though.

The offences you mention are not poaching.

Huh? Thats why he said if he were a poacher,in which case he wouldnt be bothered about the law regarding taking the roe with the wrong calibre, out of season ect.
