Hi all just joined cpsa from basc as wanting to get a classification etc etc, on the cpsa website it says there are loads of shoots readily available in east anglia such as high lodge and eriswell lodge , do I just shoot these open/practice shoots to get a classification a bit like a golf handicap or do I have to shoot registered comps to get classified

Many thanks

Taken from the CPSA website under classification section.

Temporary Classifications

If you have shot at a minimum of 300 registered targets in any given shooting discipline and you have not yet achieved a classification via the normal CPSA classification procedure you are entitled to a temporary classification certificate which is now automatically issued and will appear online and on the Shoot program. The temporary classification will come into effect immediately and then become redundant once the normal bi-annual CPSA classification procedure comes into effect.

Thanks guys not like golf then where I can play a round and use that as part of my handicap, it has to be registered shoots not just cpsa registered grounds that have practice days (high lodge for example is listed as open for practice everyday on the cpsa website, but if I shot here it would not count towards any classification )

Most Golf clubs would not provide a handicap on the basis of one card only, they would normally request 3 cards to calculate a proper handicap.
