Ive just got rid of the last full bodies and im using 60+ silos and 20 shells.

Great being able to get that amount into a relatively small box compared to the fulls and they work fine.

Used twice this week and the only thing i think is wrong are they are a wee bit too brown so have ordered grey spray to give them a touch up.

Have you got some? If so, what are they like?

I have been looking at the ones Riverside Outdoors do on ebay as a bulk out for the full body Greys and Canada shells that I have.

I have some of the foamies from riverside outdoors that i got off the bay & think they are very good. They have a good look to them & move a little from side to side in the wind so look as if they are moving along feeding.

These don't shine when wet.

Not cheap, but very good. When using a mixed lot of decoys (mine and a friends), what Greys that have pitched in have always landed alongside them.

Found them as good in frost and not wind as any others altho rain is their downfall just like with other plastic decoys that shine when they get wet!! I have full bodies shells and sillosocks and find that they get the most use

I tried contacting dj decoys several times about those decoys but not once did I get a reply so I ordered direct from Holland and they are a cracking decoy

My experiences of dealing with Gwyn have been very good.

He even pretended to mess me about when I was chasing the delivery of these into the country last year to help my girlfriend fool me over last year's Christmas present, by saying they were due in, not arrived yet, I'm chasing, etc, etc to stop me buying them as she had ordered them early. I know he sold out very quickly.

How many did you get?

3 times I emailed him and I never got a reply. I only ordered half a dozen to make to make sure they looked as good as they did in the pictures but I'm going to order some more

I usually called him on the phone. Pleasant chap.

A dozen look good all stake out, although awkward to carry. I now use my old carp fishing barrow to cart em around along with a dozen flocked Canada shells.

i bought a dozen of these on ebay to replace my old full body and add to the dozen FUD I was given last year ... so far no complaints apart from the geese

even with no wind at all they stay up and look alright ... dare i thinking what would happen when it's windy

Anyway, it's a life changer! long are the hours spend having to transport 20/30 full body up and down the field.... i have a military rucksack when they all fit in nicely, the fud hanging on one side and the gun on top ... hands free and litterally minutes to set up the pattern ...

  • 3 weeks later...

I got the foamies in the end as Motty said.

They are a good realistic goose decoy, using them in the morning.

Has any one used goose decoys along with pigeon decoys in a separate spread about 30 yards apart?

There hundreds of pigeon on this piece of land and would kill some time waiting for the pinks to come in

My advice would be if you are after Geese then goose Decoys only. Set a Goose limit eg 6 get set up in the dark shoot 6 asap pack up and leave Geese to feed undisturbed.

Personally hate to see/hear of people sitting half/all day with Goose Decoys out.

I won't say where or who but I took a PW member under the Moon shot a few No Decoys whilst talking after we had finished skein after Skien pilled into the field 8k before we shot and still 8k+ are feeding on that field.

Just a after thought IF you are in a club from your area check your club rules 👍 Most of all enjoy yourself but shoot with restraint

I tend to have a sliding limit depending on how far I have to walk back to the car with them and what sort of geese they are. Two pinkfeet or greylags are quite enough for me if I have a mile to walk back with them , otherwise four is my normal limit though I might take one or two more if I have not shot any geese for some time. Provided that is that I can find a home or use them myself.
