Noted fowling areas are Orkney , Moray Firth , Tay Estuary , Aberdeenshire for inland and the famous Solway. Check out Basc Goose Guides for the different areas and contacts. Uilleachan Posted December 1, 2016 Report Share Posted December 1, 2016 There's plenty wild fowl of all types up here on the far northwest, but it's patchy as we lack the big estuary tidal flats that are a feature of the east. Plenty informal stuff but I'm unaware of anyone running commercial wild fowling shoots outside of an add on to late season estate run stalking. As Islandgun says, try the Uists. scotslad Posted December 1, 2016 Report Share Posted December 1, 2016 I know a lad on Uist who quite literally shoots geese by the thousand up there every year, quite a serious pest for both agriculture and conservation on quite fragile ecosystems. Think he also shoots a few protected geese under licence too so not sure wot the craic is with guiding on them, doubt u'd be allowed. Novice Posted December 2, 2016 Report Share Posted December 2, 2016 I was up that way last month and while I saw quite a few parties of greylags feeding in fields up and down the coast, no-one seemed to be bothering them.
