pigeonblasterian
Met up with Stuart again to ferret a farm hedgerow that i have only had permission on for a couple of months. On the way down the farm track we saw 10 Roe deer grazing in a field of wheat. We stopped to watch and they set off running alongside the track and we noticed one was running oddly. The deer had one front leg broken and flailing around but was still running on three legs but could not keep up with the rest but was trying its best.It was not a very nice sight to see but it did not seem at all bothered by it. We got to the farm and ferreted under an old pig pen first with a concrete floor. The ferret did not bolt any but when it came out it had killed under the floor. We moved to the hedgerow and bolted rabbits to the shotguns. The total for the morning was 11 but five of those had myxy. This farm has just about been cleared of rabbits now and any left will be getting shot with the rifle.Only six good clean rabbits in the photo as the myxy rabbits were left in the hedgerow. The deer at the back is the one with a broken leg.Got this photo as they had run through a wood into the next rape field. They then ran across the track in front of us and into a small wood at the corner of the field.
