Wasabi
I'm looking to buy a good quality leather gun slip. I see John Shooter has a lot at a good price. Are they decent quality? Do they last well? I see they are at least half the price of Croots products but are they half the quality? Kalahari
I have some John Shooter stuff and it is pretty good, but no experience of gunslips. David.
guinty1
I bought one of the bay for about 80 quid about two years ago. Nicely made, good quality fittings and is like new after two years. They come in a variety of colours. You pay more for some colours.
alastair0903
I have had a gun slip for 2 years and it is great , should have a lot of years left . Best part about them is that you do not have to use the zip , every other gunslip I have useded has had to be thrown out when the zip fails
Duckandswing
I have one in ox blood I think. It's a sturdy thing and has lasted three years so far with very little noticeable wear. Much better quality than my guardian stuff
Velocette
I've got one of his gamebags and its top notch quality.
JDog
I am not sure about the full range of the John Shooter gun slips but I would never have one without a full length zip. There is no way of drying out internally the ones with just an end opening.
dodeer
With leather goods you get what you pay for. When I was 25 I saved and purchased Parsons cartridge bag, gunslip, cartridge magazine and loaders bag. All that came to about £900 but if treated once a year the kit will last my lifetime so good value really. English leather put together in B/ham. Think they are retired now but Croots look a good option.
db135
I bought a John shooter leather distressed look gun slip about 5 year ago it has a full length zip and it's been used and abused been soaked through loads times well made carnt fault in anyway
buze
I have a 'distressed' slip too, they are very well made, however the fittings and some parts are /not/ leather, they are what they call PA leather. Still, does the job pretty well and it was £90, so can't complain
