Old Boggy
Due to a very modest sloe harvest this year with only a large killer jar of sloe gin made, as opposed to the normal two Demi Johns, I turned my attention to the two morello cherry trees in the garden. I have made cherry brandy and cherry gin this year but still have about 10 lbs of morello cherries lurking at the bottom of the freezer. Any suggestions on a more interesting and adventurous spirit addition to the cherries from my normal concoction would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks OB
Danger-Mouse
Bourbon. I'm a big fan of Jim Beam Red Stag, a home made version could be very nice. Or vodka if you want something slightly more standard. Edited December 27, 2016 by Danger-Mouse
Walker570
Don't waste those cherries afterwards. Drain them well obviously and pat dry with kitchen paper. Then put them in a food processor with a suitable tub of vanilla ice cream, chop the lot up together, tip into a plastic tub and re freeze. Nice!! You can also spoon some into plastic cups about half full and freeze again. These can be tipped out as individual servings with maybe some fresh fruit alongside.
