quentyn
hi all i have decided to get a hushpower 20g o/u, I have played with the Mossberg conversions and they just feel too long now comes the question, do i go for the Investarm version for £830 all in or.... so do i really push the boat out and get a Beretta 20g and get it converted ? the Beretta is about £2k all in for a brand new or what ever i can get a 2nd hand 20g Beretta for + £600 now there is an £1170 price difference to have the comfort and feel of a Beretta ( assuming a brand new Beretta). I played with the Investarm at the shooting show on the 1 stand that had one ( for £895..) it it felt a little basic and the action felt "thin" ( though I am sure I would get used to it over time and it could have been that it was a 20g and i am used to 12's), but it swung well and mounted really nicely. If you had the cash what would you do Quentyn
sitsinhedges
I have had an Investarm Husher for years and it is a great tool but a little basic. If S&G kept a Beretta version in stock to try I probably would have ordered one but it's difficult to spend so much on something with the hope it will work for you when you can't try it first. TR1
I agree that a Beretta version would be much nicer to use. Ejectors , barrel selection , auto safety and if possible multi choke. If you intend to use regularly then I guess the extra investment would be justified . If it's just for occasional use then the standard Investarm fits the bill. As you say a try gun would be a good idea.

Guest cookoff013
thanks a great point what are most people shooting in this type of gun ? 24g No6 or similar ? can I get 30-32g no6 subsonic ? You can make whatever you want. I reload some subs for 12gauge. Anything from 21grams to 42g in a 3" hull. Most are quiet in moderated gun. The 42g load is apparently devistating on game in a #2. I will tell you now, specialised gun + specialised shells = good. Factory shells are in limited structure because not many people buy them, small markets take away huge profits from bread and butter shell runs/ clay loads. Sits in hedges here is a 20submarine man. He should help.
getthegat
I'm in a similar dilemma regarding the Hushpower. I had a Mossy 500 pump 20 gauge but I thought it was a bit nose heavy and awkward to carry, so I sold it (hope you're getting on well with it Phil). Thinking I would get an Investerarm with no trouble...........it's been impossible. I must have phoned and emailed 20 or 30 shops in the UK and nobody has one. Saddlery are having difficulties with further production and can't give an ETA for a new batch. Now the dilemma is; do I go for a Pedretti single barrel 20 bore that I've found (and would buy blind as it's miles away) and then get the call from S&G or some other gun shop saying they have one, or just hang out for the Investerarm, meanwhile not being able to visit a couple of my more restrictive perms? Guest cookoff013
Easy, buy 12gauge.
sitsinhedges
Buy the single then sell it when the double becomes available. You may want to keep both as the single is nice and light for a walkabout.

getthegat
Yes I know it's not S&G fault, they are a really good bunch of guys and I wish they were closer to me; saying that, Eastern Sporting guys are great and they are closer. Looks like I may go for the single then; after all, can anyone have too many guns? Cheers for the feed back
bicykillgaz
You should bare in mind that the investarm will be quieter as the mod is full length where as the beretta is shorter because it still has a forend section.
