Evolution saws are good value until you have to change the blade. Then they are a nightmare. I have a 110v dewalt that no longer cuts accurately. You can have it for £20 if you can collect from south of B'Ham.

thanks for the offer jonny, I have ordered a Metabo on a joiner friends recommendation.

Why doesn't it cut accurate?

Most half decent machines are completely adjustable; I adjusted my Makita from the box to get it spot on.

Have a good look around it and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Is your blade width 2mm? If your timber is sticking out to the left and your blade is cutting on The line is it the left edge or right edge of blade that is on the mark, might just be set up opposite to how your using it if that makes sense

That makes sense, im cutting with timber out to right, and blade edge on left side. Will try again tomorrow, cheers.

I have an Evolution saw and have changed the blade a few times. Why are you finding it a nightmare?

Unlike Most saws there is a small bracket that has to be removed in order to move the guard out of the way so as the blade can easily be removed. Well there is on my one anyway. This was fine for the first blade replacement but on the second time this bracket snapped very easily. I made a new one with some bits of steel knocking about the shed but I feel that the evo saws aren't built to last as well as other saws in that price range, such as metabo. The small fiddle bits just make it more awkward than the single screw on other saws. Edited by jonny long shanks
