England Lockdown ... implications for shooting
Teal replied to Smokersmith's topic in General Shooting Matters
You are right in what you say, but if you are relying on get-outs to justify doing something, it's not a good position. Adding a gun to those scenarios you have listed above does complicate it. I think caution should be applied by certificate holders as per previous. -

The problem is that the open air recreation exemption for travel appears to be limited to: public outdoor place. It's on this document under section 6 being exemption for leaving home: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/1200/pdfs/uksi_20201200_en.pdf As I have said previously shooters should be careful they are within the rules. -
England Lockdown ... implications for shooting

This is all covered under part 1: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november I don't make the rules. I am just saying that shooters should be very careful until things are properly clarified with full information. Look it'd be great if shooting and fishing are allowed, and I know it's not popular to say that it may be restricted- but I think it is possible - and given the higher burden of responsibility as a certificate holder, I think people should be cautious for the next few days until full guidance comes out, as there are mixed messages. -
England Lockdown ... implications for shooting

I can't be the only one that sees all shooting outside of essential pest control (in England) as a grey area at present. I did see the BASC release - but I think it contains caveat that it is preliminary interpretation. There seems to be some ambiguity around the whole situation. Certainly there was an article in the independent that fishing was the "only outdoor recreational activity to be permitted" -https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/fishing-lockdown-allowed-covid-uk-rules-b1588327.html I have heard Avon&Somerset have turned back anglers this morning from travelling to fish - going against the article above. Of course the police interpretation may be subsequently revealed to be wrong. However, I would say to shooters who higher burden to be responsible, to be aware that unless doing pest control, until the situation is properly clarified, and don't think it is business as normal with respect to 'fowling or rough shooting. Deer management probably permitted under the same grounds as pest control work. This isn't about coronavirus risk, but it is a blanket lockdown, and the Govt and police will be very cautious to unpick it, or there will be so many loopholes, and complexity that it won't be followed. -
Agreed. So divided and angry. Whichever way it falls almost half the country will be bitter. Although, the most shocking thing for me is that these two are the only candidates a country as advanced and powerful as the US puts forward. I know the parties' memberships vote for them, but (imo) they're both dreadful in their own way! Yet... 🤣

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november The guidance "you must not leave or be outside of your home except for specific purposes", and having looked at the list it would require fairly heavy prescription rose tinted glasses to think clay pigeon shooting would fall under that remit It goes on to say that the Govt have ordered the following to close: indoor and outdoor leisure facilities such as bowling alleys, leisure centres and gyms, sports facilities including swimming pools, golf courses and driving ranges, dance studios, stables and riding centres, soft play facilities, climbing walls and climbing centres, archery and shooting ranges, water and theme parks. Busted flush I'm afraid for the CPSA. Happy to eat my hat, but I don't think it will be required. -
There certainly shouldn't be pop-up ads on PW. By all means take a screenshot and PM it to me. There are google ads on the site, and also Browning sponsor us. Google have made some changes with how they display their ads. The site is subscription free, maybe we could look to go more down this route if people were interested. The ads do chip in to cover the running costs, pretty much every website has them, unless they are on a subscription model. Thanks, W

Merged the accounts for you, depending on whether you are using your email address or username to sign in, the username to login is now: dawntredder (not your name). Password will be the same -
Love it!! Yes, so as per MarshMan - imgbb code is being phased out. The last update of the forum removed it - as it is not really necessary these days - with just direct linking. I would have posted up about it but I didn't realise that quite a few still used it. Glad to see so many excellent pictures on the thread

Trichomonas gallinae is the one you should be interested in, and you linked to above. The disease it causes is called Trichomoniasis in pigeons as per above. You are looking at Trichomonas vaginalis, which is not relevant here.
-
Trichomonas is the protozoan, Trichomoniasis is the disease it causes.
-
Huge acorn year - there will be a lot of pigeons dying this winter from Trichomoniasis. As per above it's not the only cause, but very likely. Found a few sick and dead ones here already. If you grab one it will have no meat on the breast as it is unable to feed.

Ah didn't realise from the photo, good luck!

Blue spray looks promising, that's how they mark them up here prior to works.

That's a shock, and sorry to hear. I know what Mungler means, Hamster wasn't afraid to post his point of view in an articulate way. I had a lot of time for his opinion, even if it let to a few scraps with others on the site, as it was always well considered. Clearly a very accomplished shot as well, and always came across as a nice guy.

Discounted Pigeon Shooting Gear - Warehouse Flood
Teal replied to Teal's topic in Pigeon Decoying Equipment
Have you had any luck yet - I think he's been pretty busy with shipments. He's a good guy I'm sure he'll be in touch with you soon if you leave your details on the voicemail @paul hart -
I imagine they will sort out the hierarchy again in a few days. Great to hear you got them both back.
-
Phew! That's very good news. Patch must have done the trick afterall!
-
And it's not worked ☹️ will keep trying.. but likely a few more days..
-
Sorry about this it's been a real pain, I've just installed a patch and fingers crossed this will solve it....
-
@paul hart of "the pigeon shooter", has a lot of equipment that he is selling off. One of the warehouses had some limited flood damage. I understand it will be very well priced. He is a Trade Member, and will be posting up items in the Other Sales section of the site. But in the meantime if you wish to contact him, you are best to PM, or 01405 862539 or 07903245760.

I understand a patch is coming out tomorrow to fix the issue we are having with trade guns being listed repeatedly. I am hoping it will also address the iPad issues, but if not I will keep trying on this. If anyone could take a screenshot and PM it, with any errors or to show the problem would be very helpful - thanks!

We've had a similar comment from one other. I hope you don't mind me asking, but is it a fairly old iPad?

To be fair the number of scams online is unreal, and so it is just not stuff the police do. There's very little disincentive for web criminals. Caveat Emptor.
