  1. Do you know if it is compatible with "Advocate" or used instead does it cover lungworm?
  2. Typical London centric comment - why would it be any different for the stall holders if it was in the south - they come from all over as do the organisers!
  3. Got collar from vet but it states that it should be kept dry and swimming is a no no - we have a spaniel, hell would need to freeze over to keep her out of water
  4. Anyone else having trouble this year with ticks in the nymph stage - pin head size and black and seem to be picked up in tens not ones. A couple of weeks ago we must have pulled or brushed about 60 off (definitely not fleas before anyone thinks so). We thought we had got the lot but there was another batch on Tuesday. Any ideas to stop the pick up?
  5. One for the "growers" out there. Having finished building works about 5 weeks ago we reseeded areas with grass - most of this has now grown to about 150mm. The question is - "should we mow or leave over winter and mow in spring?" as we don't want to retard further thickening growth.
  6. Bitumastic tends to stay flexible longer and is therefore less prone to crack as tin expands and contracts in heat but still dries out in the end. Another option would be "Galvafroid" as this will kill rust as applied. May be expensive at circa £60 a litre
  7. or even get the farmer to use a gas gun for a bit - you never know the anti may appreciate the comparative quiet of shooting
  8. Crab apple and elderberry jelly as a meat accompaniment but also good on scones.
  9. Offered last years crop to the local "craft" pig rearer - not the slightest bit interested
  10. This is what our financial adviser suggested as the best route - just in case of the "Hypothetical Scumbag" as he put it to our daughter
  11. Just a random question; In the past I have had success using dry fir cones as kindling in the wood burner (smells good too), do folks think that beech mast would work, if not as kindling, as a fuel source? We have a large beech tree in our new garden and the mast is a pain in the autumn, it would be useful if it could be used.
  12. Works well in pipework too - used it on site to seal a fairly major leak (drill hole) when it was first released.

  15. Just in the process of moving - local village show (Ashover) is quite large and has been running for about 80 years - will find out Wednesday week how good it is
  16. Similar here with limp dumps and lieboor but who also treat motorist as cash cow.
  17. Probably not - but it adds to the "get out" ammo
  18. French will do nothing - they want rid so send to us - wrt strikes European free trade rules are broken if ports are closed (you notice they do not hit other border crossings) so the French authorities are at fault here also. It is time we hit them where it hurts - in the pocket -via the courts.
  19. I have had dealings with 2 over the years - both were inclined to be "grumpy" and although trainable were somewhat "difficult" at times. But as it has been said good looking
  20. I'd put a fairly safe bet on that the SABS go nowhere near this lot
