Woman on BBC news this morning complaining of lack of government help de-radicalizing her son back from Syria. Again what are the Mosques and so called community leaders doing? You've got it nothing but bleat about being picked on because other religions have not had letters asking them to do more to stop radicalization (not that I know of any .

Tell me about the Peak District as a place to live
Yellow Bear replied to Blunderbuss's topic in Off Topic
Moving to Derbyshire peak district ourselves this year - Amber Valley, 10m drive from Chatsworth and all the facilities you could need within 6 miles. Pub in easy walking distance but Ashover village with 3 good pubs is also less than a mile. Great area. -

Ikea will pick and deliver for about £35 and assemble for £25 plus 20% of purchase cost - what you want should come in at well under 1k even at this. -
One of the problems is not the number of managers but what they do - over the years the ward sister has become the ward Manager - the hospital secretary the chief executive, the almoner the social work manager, etc. This increases the number of "Managers" whilst reducing the number of "Front line" for no effective change in jobs or staffing - just a title change ploy to increase pay. Granted there are a few more admin staff but this is a factor of, the litigation risk - everything has to be recorded in triplicate, and the fact that a large number of patients fail to attend appointments (and then expect to be fitted in at a moments notice when it suits them). There are undoubtedly problems but most are not due to lack of funds but peoples expectations of everything now. We have friends that work in A&E who tell us that if you take out the 25% that come in with non urgent issues (they can't be ****** to contact their GP because they have had the cold/cough/ache for 2 weeks and may have to wait a day or two to see the doctor) and the 20% drink related injuries through over indulgence, there would be little problem.. You can also add the large number (almost as many as long term issues due to weight/smoking which some keep stating) of "sports related issues" caused by "keeping fit" you can see where the problems lie. Anecdotally we were told that on one day between Xmas and new year nearly half the people in A&E had so called sports related issues.

Another way is to register your own domain name - mine costs about £10 for 2 years - this gives a number of email addresses that you can easily direct where you like. Give these out and no problem if you change your ISP - you just change the settings

As a further point there was an article about the Formby Red population on the breakfast program on the BBC this last couple of weeks. When pressed even the National Trust representative admitted that culls of greys were necessary to both control numbers and protect red populations. Whilst I am unsure of the true facts I have been led to believe that there was an "un-official" cordon sanitaire round the Formby woodland that had succeeded in keeping the greys and hence the pox out. this was breached when some of the "land" changed hands and the shooting was stopped. I would be interested to know if this is true. Another snippet reported was that Liverpool Uni researchers think that a pox resistant strain of Reds may be emerging at Formby following the latest pox outbreak.

Allegedly about 200 at Formby (local news just prior to Xmas) - however avoid weekends and school holidays like the plague otherwise your day will be spoiled by hoards of small children screaming "look a sqwirrrelll" (deliberate attempt to write a really broad scouse accent ) and then throwing in-shell peanuts at them!

As it stand I should be there. -
Also think on - it takes about 4 years to train a nurse - 3 at uni and then at least one in practice after, so the current problems probably started 10+ years ago.
