  1. Hi all just to say i have not been on for a good while been busy at work and other stuff went Fowling for the second time this season was nice to be out but did not come to much there was not allot about. Have not been out for Pigeans yet but have done a fair bit of Stalking bagging 5 Deer 2 reds four pointer ten pointer Red stags..... Chineese W D ..... Roe and a Sika with the 550cz .243. Have improved may scores on the clays and managed to bag a trophy and runner up in the Christmas Comp bagging two bottles of Vino. Still bunnie bashing with the .17HMR now and then. Well I hope you are all well and wish you all and your families a very merry Christmas ....... Funky
  2. Hi all want to get into reloading .243 and want to know which press kit to buy ... any advise would be welcomed
  3. Hi all have not posted for some time hope you are all well .... Question is at what range do you zero a .243 if you posses this calibre, I am using at the moment remington 100gr .... your advise would be appreciated
  4. My 4x4 died have to get another doing alot od walking about at the mo
  5. CZ AMERICAN 550 .243 WIDCAT MOD S&B kLASSIC 3-12X42 HARRIS BIPOD + MERC
  6. Is that the chair that the fat lady in Tom and Jerry stands on and SCREAMS B)
  7. Congratulations PAV nice setup very tactical looking I must say. B) I was inpressed with the POLICE MARKSMAN S&B when veiwing it but found it to be too much scope for the range of the .243 decided to go for the S&B 3-12x42. as a Deer stalking setup I also battled with the decision wether to have a MOD as you are only going to get one shoot at a Deer or a Fox and this seemed to sugest that the only real reason to have a Mod is to reduce noise with regards to the human population rather than any potential targetsstill milling around after the first shot has been taken. Being fully aware that no matter what Mod one has it will not stop the high velocity CRACK from the round going supersonic. What i will say about your set up is that it is great looking Tactical setup and will be able to cope with any future shooting needs with regards to you going for deer or target shooting. As you mentioned you will probably not use the scope to it full potential unless you join the local SWAT Team, I just hope that the scope does not encourage you to take too longer shoots beond the rounds capabilities as it seems that in this day and age most people have an ultre ego which centres around the character of Master Gunnery sergant Thomas Beckett who would look more at home shouldering such a fine looking tactical weapon than the Pavman. Hey maybe a Ghille suit and i will be your spotter "wind quarter value ,,, Range 800 .. incline 28 degree ... Hold scope ... FIRE FIRE FIRE ...." Feel the rush .... see the pink mist I leave you all with this thought. If i was out shooting .... say a Fox at a range of 250 meters would my CZ 550 American .243 and S&B 3-12x42 with a Wildcat 200 MOD do a better or worse job than Pavs setup........ This is in no way a crititism but what i have found is that the shooting industy seem to cosmetically increase the presetation of a weapon with S/S bull barrels scopes that can zoom into the surface of the moon and so on.as you know its called Marketing What i am saying is that all this stuff shoots a big hole in our bank acounts but ultimately does the same thing shoots a .243 round at a given target with an acceptable level of accuracyaccording to the range of the round fired. What is important is that Pavs got what he wanted and has good shooting with it.. as thats what it is all about ... Have fun and don't forget KEEP IT FUNKY
  8. Gut them when shot do not leave specially in hot weather. When home make a noose place rabbit head in Noose then separate skin from central body using your fingers. Wwork your fingers around to the spine either side then cut skin with knife. Get a pair of peuning cutters and cut feet off front and back at the first joint from the toes. De glove the rear of the rabbit then snip tail off and cut betweent back legs and clean out the anal area. place rabbit back legs through noose and de glove the front over it head and cut off head. this way is not good for keeping the whole pelt but is a quick way of doing it about 3 minutes per rabbit .
  9. I must agree with your statement Pav that you only get what you pay for and feel this to be more the case with scopes I took delivery of my S&B 3-12X42 KLASSIK and all i can say is WOW. I have also opted for a Wildcat 200 mainly because you can strip them down and clean them. I will be picking up the CZ 550 American on Friday so all is good. I thought about which rifle and what scope and Mod for a good while and found that most factory rifles shoot well out of the box. Mods well there are all types ASE, Atec, T8, T4, they all do much the same, the one i wanted was the A Tec but could not get hold of one so i went for the wild cat. all in all a setup up that suits my needs, a bit of Foxing and a bit of Deer stalking. Really don't now the amount of time i will use it, but have the kit in the cabinet if the oppertunity arises in the future. i suppose we will have to wait and see.... Best of luck speak to all soon
