I've got a .22 Weihrauch HW-97K which I use for the occasional bit of plinking, plus the odd squirrel or two. However, after ignoring the garden (1 acre) all winter I've noticed it's got rabbits and anything up to 20 woodies at a time. Not good for the veg patch.
Seeing as I'm getting back into full-bore target, I'd like to get a PCP rifle that will a) give me some low-cost practice for the big guns and make a mess of those flappers. My shortlist is:
- AA S410
- Falcon FN19 Lighthunter
- Weihrauch HW-100
I'm not sure I want to splash out for the HW-100, particularly after a few iffy reviews. S410 sounds great, but the mechanism on the brand new one I played with this week really sucked (maybe it was just that rifle) - loved the feel of it though. The Falcon looks great and I've heard wonderful things about it - except for the cylinder capacity.
Most importantly, I'll be applying for an FAC later in the year, and would love to get something that could be upgraded by a gunmaker some time in the future.
Not sure about calibre - my fieldcraft sucks, so most of my shots have to be 35yds+. Love the hitting power of .22, but would switch to .177 if it's worth it.
So, does anyone have any advice on these three please?
Thanks in advance
Tobes
