My owner is a syndicate member on a 10 gun pheasant & duck shoot. His keeper has good access to local land for pigeon shooting. He is a manic golfer, 14 handicap. He enjoys good food, and is an unqualified but expert cook, (I love my scraps!) He likes fine wines & real ale (not a CAMRA man). For his sins he works in the transport industry. I,m 12 years old and live in the country with lots of nice walks.
  1. I think a grammar lesson would not go amiss. IMHO. RTR

  4. It,s probable that the maize was game-crop and had been flattened for ploughing and this had knocked the grain off. always a good source of pigoens. Keep an eye open for any not flattened and try to find out when its due and you will have a biig day. RTR
  5. I,ll check to proof mark then. thanks
  6. Ah but not quite what I need. Somewhere I saw a list that against the serial No, say 208042, would be year of manufacture. RTR
  7. Where would we be without you Mike. ***
  8. Does anyone know a website that dates guns. I am in process of buying a 2nd hand AYA and would like to know its age from the serial number. thanks RTR
  9. well done Mike. Bit early yet as we are still on the pheasants till next week. RTR
  10. Go to your local (trusted) gun dealer. Though most are very reputable. Ask ALL the questions, then ask some more. With that budget you can get something really nice. Where are you, would help to know and guys on here will point you to good dealer. Do you have any shooting friends. They will help to as we are all after the same ends. RTR
  11. Browning is right. Hat with good brim essential, but most important, keep still. Been out with guys who, soon as they see a pigeon on the horizon, gun up (flash of barrels), face towards the bird, surprise - surprise, the bird turns away. Bird coming, dont move, anything!!!. You only need to raise the gun when bird is in range. Wear camo if your happy but comfort is more important. Just back from OZ and shooting roo,s needs a whole lot of patience and keeping so so still. RTR
  12. Oh so glad. Been away since Dec 15th............big bag in post today.
  13. sorry, been away. what chokes does it have. RTR
  14. Knowing how much it was appreciated on here last time, there,s a new series starting tonight. Ch 4, 8.00. RTR
