It,s probable that the maize was game-crop and had been flattened for ploughing and this had knocked the grain off. always a good source of pigoens. Keep an eye open for any not flattened and try to find out when its due and you will have a biig day. RTR

I,ll check to proof mark then. thanks

Ah but not quite what I need. Somewhere I saw a list that against the serial No, say 208042, would be year of manufacture. RTR

Go to your local (trusted) gun dealer. Though most are very reputable. Ask ALL the questions, then ask some more. With that budget you can get something really nice. Where are you, would help to know and guys on here will point you to good dealer. Do you have any shooting friends. They will help to as we are all after the same ends. RTR

Browning is right. Hat with good brim essential, but most important, keep still. Been out with guys who, soon as they see a pigeon on the horizon, gun up (flash of barrels), face towards the bird, surprise - surprise, the bird turns away. Bird coming, dont move, anything!!!. You only need to raise the gun when bird is in range. Wear camo if your happy but comfort is more important. Just back from OZ and shooting roo,s needs a whole lot of patience and keeping so so still. RTR

Also what should be born in mind, a lot of birds about now are this years younger birds. Most have never seen a "magnet" or decoys and are happy to flock in and see what is going on when they see your decoys. Once they have had a bang or two at them they will become as wary as the older birds. RTR

Well that was a sight, Mike. Never seen that many either. There are some large numbers getting about, had a "bigish day" last Thursday, shot 89 between two of us. The birds were feeding on peas in an adjacent field, several hundred went up when we arrived, but were decoying onto our magnets on a setaside field and a clover field. (No permission on the pea field, someone else has that and they can expect a good day when they get up there) RTR

Some ammunition for the antis I say. Look how many time he did not get a clean kill. Disgusting shooting, should be ashamed of himself. Suppose this will get you all stirred up. Just my opinion. RTR

Highly recommended in warm weather. You can wear it over a t-shirt & pair of shorts. RTR
