  1. Thanks for other comments but it can be done...just carefully!! and
  2. Thanks for the offer. I'm happy to post/Evri courier it to you and the arrange collection? Would that work for you please?
  3. Thanks for the reply. I would be happy to be guided by whoever undertakes the turning. I have seen a few YouTube videos where the wood with splits is placed a resin and then turned - but I don't have a clue as to what are the rights & wrongs of wood turning.

    Solomon

    Saloman (I think), not Soloman?
  5. I have been given a piece of wood approx 12 x 12 x 4" that I am told is Lignum Vitae. Photos below. It is very heavy and I would like it turned into a bowl. Would anyone on here be able to do this please? I'm happy to pay for time, expense, materials used etc plus to & from post / Evri (I don't think even they can break this). Thanks in advance.
  6. There is one on Guntrader (but not cheap?). https://www.guntrader.uk/Guns-For-Sale/results/56b8-be17-2ead-f4f8 but, there was also a Beretta 682 triple (duck gun, I think) which I shot some time ago and the handling & balance was unbelievable. Good luck with your search.

  9. I would agree with that. I have owned several AyA No2's and all had detachable locks. The one I have owned for the last few (many?) years is a 1976 single trigger - with detachable locks. If the seller sent an email to Aya at aya@aya-fineguns.com with the serial number, they would let them know.
  10. Two shiploads carrying several thousands of completed (German?) cars have sunk in the past couple in the years, blamed on EV's. This one and one earlier

This is what my wife (very competent typist) recommends too. If I start wrong it can only get worse - plus, being an official old *** now, I can get "job application enhancement skills" courses for free. Thanks for all replies.

I have decided it is time to move on from my two fingered tapping. Can anyone recommend any method / process / YouTube (etc) videos that worked for them please? Thanks in advance.
  13. Do you have legal cover on your house insurance? Definitely worth getting legal advice.
  14. Beware the new Sonoma IOS upgrade. Several issues with that. Google search in interesting..... PS. If you're booked into MK I might see you there!
  15. I was just trawling t'interweb for solutions to sticky / non functioning keys and found this https://support.apple.com/en-gb/keyboard-service-program-for-mac-notebooks where, with an extended warranty programme, Apple will repair or replace faulty keyboards FOR FREE! I've booked mine in.
  16. Not much stress involved at all I would think but possibly sorted with my (new!) best friend in the village who reckons he can 3D print a threaded cap. We shall see......
  17. Thanks for all replies and my apologies for the delay in reply but we have been away. Found my old thread gauge and it is 13 TPI so I might try the 38 x 2 as that might work.
  18. I shot a Beretta triple some years ago which was being sold as a duck gun. It was really well balanced and i was amazed how light it felt.
  19. Hi. I didn't "object" (or if it read that way, I apologise) but I did think "randoms" was a bit harsh as there are many very helpful people on here. As for a collective noun how about an insignificance - but I understand that is already applicable to Estate Agents?
  20. Thanks. If I get stuck I'll let you know but I should be able to find my pitch gauges if they are where I think they are.
  21. Sitting on a pile of rubble awaiting plumbers who would "definitely be here by 10am" (today), I don't have access to calipers or anything to get an accurate measure - but I do have access off my laptop to this "bunch of randoms" (bit harsh? 😉) and a tape measure of the threaded collar (close enough to 1/2") gives me more than 6 tpi for whit. True. And in my reloading kit.
  22. To me the pitch just looks too wide for whit. Off to plumbers merchants...
  23. Almost as long ago as this item is old, I was a toolmaker. Somewhere I have my screw pitch gauges and pocket charts. Not seen either in years!
  24. It's over 100 years old so not likely to me metric? That is what I was thinking - just trying to avoid walking into screwfix, tripod under arm, and asking "can you tell me what this is please"? 🤔 Yes, but same issue as above with Screwfix - but may be the only option.
