  3. Now gone. Free - Ideal for finding out which ammo your rifle prefers? 15 Winchester subs 40gr HP 11 Magtech ditto 15 RWS ditto 15 Eley ditto 10 Rem ditto 35 (ish) Winchester Supersonic 34gr HP Collect only from North Bedfordshire - and bring your FAC. First to say yes on here (not PM) gets them but also offered elsewhere.
  4. Louis Latour Pinot Noir Valmoisine - about £10 from Majestic. Superb. Otherwise a Fleurie is a good suggestion - or a good Reserve Rioja or a Malbec.
  5. These are fantastic coats. Mine is over 10 years old and still going strong. 100% waterproof (goretex), lightweight, very warm and damn near thornproof. Zip it up and you can camp in it (almost!). At £100 that's a bargain. NO CONNECTION TO SELLER.
  6. From AirgunBBS Quote Titan, Baz posted some months ago that the problem with the accuracy of the carbine was a result of the barrel being too short to ensure powder burn (other than with pistol cartridges). I have a long barreled '64 action rifle (already reviewed) and it's plenty accurate. Unquote Uncertainty I can do without. ATB Eyefor (previously Maple)
  7. Message sent re possible split. Interested in bottle. Thanks.
  8. It is my favourite calibre (even above my much-loved 22-250). I load 100gr, 140gr and 175gr and all three consistently group under one inch at 200 yards - if I do my bit. All are run near flat out / max load and all use Varget. Get one!
  9. SOLD - subject to collection.
  10. Large scoped rifle cabinet Large cabinet - 8 /10 scoped rifles (easy). The cabinet is 23 1/2" wide x 18 1/2" deep x 58" tall and will easily take lots of scoped rifles - probably 10 or 12 - or even more unscoped (or shotguns) so plenty of in / out room. It has two chubb-style locks (each has two keys), double skinned door, vent holes at each side, two shelves (one fixed, one removable), floor butt rack, one side rack (the foam inserts can be used on the other sides) and is in good condition. Cost new £300+ Asking £185 collected. Advertised elsewhere so offered subject to remaining unsold. Thanks for looking.
  11. Just to really pi** you off only yesterday (Friday Feb 11) I binned an all in one orange X3 fishing (flotation) suit that I had not used for years and it was talking up garage hanging space. To balance that I put had a fridge freezer, a shoe rack and a yoga / exercise mat (Mrs Eyefor's, not mine!) on the local Freecycle website and, despite loads of people promising to collect, I took all three to the tip last weekend. Sorry. Life's a bitch sometimes?
  12. Was it anywhere near a church Gary? Looks like a vicar fox to me.....

    ducks

With the owners permission you can shoot the ducks flying over that land - but only with non toxic shot and only between Sept 1 and Jan 31 (England, Scotland & Wales) BUT to shoot ducks over / near water you definitely need a dog to retrieve.
  14. .......on grey squirrels There were near-zero pigeons about in the wood yesterday afternoon but as I stood there waiting them to roost I spotted a squirrel in range. Just as it leapt between two trees I fired and immediately, from behind the same tree, another squirrel went in the opposite direction. Two shots. Left & Right. Two less tree rats. Oh - pigeons? After two hours and one only pigeon I gave up and went home but still fairly chuffed with the tree rat double!
  15. Apologies if I'm stating the obvious - but why can't you turn the existing one upside down? Voila - left hand hinge
  16. "I bet more people get hit and killed by cars than eaten by sharks". More people are killed on beaches around the world each year by falling coconuts than are killed by sharks. "SHARK ATTACK" just makes more dramatic news?
  17. Not wishing to hijack the "cocker rage" pages I note that there are several comments on there suggesting that a cocker is not suitable for a first gun dog? Can I ask please - 1. Why not and 2. What would be the recommendations for a first dog? TIA
  18. From an Anglian Water worker cleaning out a sewage farm settlement pond - "Bit like life, this job. Always in the **** but occasionally the depth varies"
  19. PM garyB on here. He loads 26.5gr Varget under 55gr heads for .223 and has had excellent results. IIRC 27.5 is the maximum recommended.
  20. I've just been directed towards a brand new SAK on another site so looks as if sorted now. Thanks anyway.
  21. Thanks but I think it will need internals - I'm shooting fairly close to housing so want to be as quiet as possible.
