Cheers Bob, Not sure if this was sorted when it was purchased and initially set up back when it was new in 2013, no doubt will find out if I replace the drive as not sure or decided yet if this one is worth spending on or a replacement laptop is on the cards as it didn’t seem to like windows 10 when it was up and running as was very slow, I only need a basic laptop as don’t game or watch movies other than YouTube videos so nothing fancy required and can’t justify the ridiculous cost of replacement if not absolutely necessary

Agreed, Just been mentioned that as laptop had win 8 originally, I should be able to download from Microsoft website and then upgrade to Win10 as “key” will be registered with them electronically

I need to replace the hard drive that has failed in my Lenovo IdeaPad laptop (windows 8 upgraded to 10)and looking on the bay of everything at getting an SSD’s with preloaded windows 10 as a replacement to get back up and running and also whilst figuring out if possible to recover data from old drive. Has anyone used these preloaded cheap nondescript drives with any success as they are described as plug and play but there is also mention of no activation key provided which leads me to believe it might not be as straight forward as it seems

Not sure if it fires up, would have to put it back in and see, the chap in the shop mentioned something along lines of it requesting formatting when they put it in their “reader” thing to see, my son had a look when still in laptop and played around in some bios settings or other( he knows more about these things than me) and said it wouldn’t recognise the drive being present. Seen one online at £79 just before starting this thread, if all else fails

Yes, swapping out of the actual discs is what I believe is required, don’t think my dexterity may still be up to it though, look like spending a wet afternoon researching this one, cheers

Morning all, looking for recommendations with regards to possible data recovery from a goosed laptop hard drive that I’m pretty sure has failed due to mechanical issues other than anything else after being dropped whilst in sleep mode. Drive removed from laptop and checked this morning by local pc shop who confirm that it’ is indeed dead. Could do with recovering personal files etc off there which in hindsight should have been backed up on a regular basis ……. Just looked online and there are businesses out offering a service so just need recommendations if anyone been here and done same… cheers

I recently cancelled a policy with two months remaining as I sold the vehicle and received a notification email to the same effect, nothing to to be refunded as would be swallowed up by administration fees ?....... cant figure out what the administration fees might be other than a couple of clicks on a keyboard ! Renewal policy quote on another vehicle from well known company came in at over 35% increase on last years price, wasted a phone call attempting to get it reduced so eventually cancelled and went elsewhere and cheaper with another well known company, can't figure out how they arrive at their prices or how they vary so much for same vehicle..

When out and about on one of my permissions many years ago I managed to put my boot in a dug hole that I discovered to be full of **** , at first i blamed the keeper 😁, later to be informed that it would be Badgers that do this to mark their territory, have a look for some of those scattered around the area but don't put your foot in any if poss

Glad to hear you got this sorted in time, as said above, you could have been out and about miles away from anywhere as many of us often are, Just going through the process of all the usual checks myself having had a couple of "episodes" over the last couple of years or so, nothing serious says I, but the Doc who I eventually went to see (needless to say,prompted by her indoors)and who I mentioned it to is quite concerned,so now have gone from zero tablets per day to quite a few and all at once to help get things under control whilst being checked out and investigated. So the moral of the story here gents is stop being big and brave and thinking it'll be alright, its just a bit of a pain and will pass.... get yourself looked at if experiencing any issues whatsoever or we might wake up dead one day and miss out on the future we should all have planned. For those that do still get out and about regardless.....get what three words downloaded on your mobiles along with a tracker for when you're out in the sticks, I always tell my son, if he eventually finds me laid in a field one day after my not returning home after and evening out foxing, always check the gun first before me and remember if that's the way I go then I passed with my boots on and doing what I enjoyed. keep smiling fellas

Update Two boxes of Superformance collected from local RFD yesterday FOC courtesy Hornady and Edgar Brothers Armoury/Returns Supervisor. Can’t fault them for customer service regards the issue Didn’t t have any further issues with remainder of the box in question that was used up on paper or with factory Remington and PPU or with home loads that I am in the process of developing so suspect a couple of duff Hornady rounds for whatever reason. Suspicion was also more or less confirmed when collecting them and discussing issue with RFD who showed me a handful of same rounds that had been returned from one box purchased by another Customer recently and strongly suspected as being from same batch. Will see how we go with these
