  1. Hi All I am selling my 1993 3.5V8 Discovery with LPG conversion as it's no longer needed (I have been offered a deal on another 4x4 I can't turn down) and also requires some welding to get it through the MOT which runs out in the next couple of days. It is bronze in colour and has an LPG conversion with two tanks underneath and also has a pre-heater although I have never used this. Radio also needs to be de-coded thanks to my lovely kids. It will also need a new battery. Would make a good little summer project or just something to take out around a farm for a bit of fun. Currently I'm paying around 52p a litre for LPG. Mileage is about 139k but I will confirm this later on and can send pics should anyone need them. First £250 can take it away or £300 to include 6 months tax that is left on it - also open to swap for .177 air rifle. Cheers Gillaroo Update - Pictures attached for those that requested them. In terms of welding, the garage owner said it's sills and rear floor that need doing. Please also note that the dog guard and complete set of mats are available separately and are not included in the price.
  2. Try taking the dog for a walk and at some point with the dog at heal, drop (or little throw) the dummy to your side (letting the dog see it go), tell it to "Leave" and carry on walking with the dog at heal. Then about fifteen yards on, stop and turn the dog round back to where the dummy was dropped and send dog back. If it doesn't come straight back to you walk slowly backwards, keeping low and encouraging the dog - NEVER go towards the dog to take the dummy. Do this 3 or 4 times during a normal walk and lengthen the distance slowly. Also helps steadiness with the leave command. Hope this helps Gillaroo
  3. Exactly as above with food bowls - bang bang bang... dinner time - thus associating a loud noise with enjoyment. Don't just go straight out with a five shot semi. Just build up steadily and you won't go wrong. Cheers Gillaroo
  4. Or for those letting dogs run loose... "Rat Poison in use in this area - please keep dogs on leads."
  5. This may help... http://classifieds.country-classifieds.com...;query=category Cheers Gillaroo
  6. Darren, Ask your vet to refer him to a specialist practice like Davies... (no personal connection by the way) http://www.vetspecialists.co.uk I hope this helps and wish you the best of luck! Gillaroo
  7. Ok mate. Give me a shout nearer the time. Hopefully it's cold and wet to keep the numbers down. If it was like today it'll be combat fishing! Cheers Mike
  8. 21st March - are you bashing the stockies on the dam again with Kev? Not sure where we are going yet. Might head somewhere quiet as it's a Saturday.
  9. Skippy If you need any info on Bewl just send me a PM. Once you've got the location right you'll get your string pulled for sure. Happy to help out. Cheers Gillaroo
  10. I'll be at Bewl on opening Day - 21st March and then most weekends after. Opening Day will also include a long liquid lunch in The Brown Trout. Cheers Gillaroo
  11. Hi DTH The 2 shoots I mainly go on were like chalk and cheese. One had 100s of birds left and th other was pretty much shot out by start of Jan. The old boy not filling the feeders didn't help and I only found out when it was too late! Hi Chris Yes he did get his 20 but is costing me a small fortune in cartridges. Are you going opening day to Bewl? Cheers Mike
  12. Kids mature differently both mentally and physically and some are more responsible than others. My lad got his ticket last year aged 9 and shoots a 20 bore but is perfectly capable of shooting safely with a 12. He works at weekends on a local clay shoot and has been taught every safety aspect involved and more. He is also a strong lad for his age but he has some friends at school who I am unlikely to ever to take out - they just aren't shooters and never will be but I think that's down to their parents. You must make the decision based on all these factors and not on age. Why can't his dad teach him? Cheers Gillaroo
  13. Sorry for your loss. I know from experience it's a **** time and still get reminders of all my dogs from time to time. Gillaroo
  14. Nice looking pup. I'll ask around at the weekend for you. We're in E Sussex so not too far if anyone wants to see her. I'd be interested to see the pedigrees please? Cheers Gillaroo
  15. I'm in East Sussex too - born in The Buchanan in Hastings and out shooting 5 years after that with my grandad. The best part of the country of course - not that I'm prejudiced! Now work the dogs more than I shoot but my 10 year old lad is really getting into it now which is great. Cheers Gillaroo
  16. Scary bit was the 400 (I think) guns they seize every month in London! How many guns are in the capital they don't know about? The sentences dished out were a joke. Gillaroo
  17. "This never happened in Watership Down!"
  18. Ok thanks Charlie. Not the one for me sadly but good luck with the sale. Cheers Gillaroo
  19. Thanks Charlie. Ejector or non-ejector? Model and left or right handed please. Many thanks
  20. Hi Charlie I'm interested in the Lincoln but would like to know a bit more about it please - model, ejector or non-ej, chokes, left or right hand, condition etc. Look forward to hearing from you. PM if you want. Cheers Gillaroo
  21. I'm really sorry to hear this Dave and wish you every success in your search. I'm sure he'll turn up ok. If I lived nearby I'd be out looking as well. Good luck and fingers crossed. Gillaroo
  22. Over the years I have had both and there isn't much between them. I've had bitches that are head strong and dogs that are very timid. I guess you takes your choice when you see the litter? The coming into season shouldn't be a concern unless like some idiots you decide to take an on-heat bitch out beating with a load of dogs - has happened to me once this season and I may as well put the dogs back in the car as the chance of a sh@g takes over! Well they say dogs are like their owners. Gillaroo
  23. Prior to the laws regarding imitation firearms, I used a starting pistol one evening in a local park (it was empty on a drizzly evening and I was well within the law according to my local FO). Had a good little training session, went home and thought nothing of it. The next day I found out that an ex-policeman who lived near the park had reported hearing the sound of a "shotgun" in the park which in turn led to every exit being covered by fully tooled Kent and Met Tactical Fireams officers before sending the dogs in to search for the gunman. Seems funny looking back but just be careful where you use a starting pistol - guidelines as follows... * Ensure that you use your starting pistol only on private land * Ensure that you have the permission of the landowner to use the starting pistol * Ensure that you cannot be observed using the starting pistol by any members of the public at any time. (Be aware of where public footpaths may cross or border the land you are on) * Ensure that the starting pistol is kept completely covered at all times when not in use Cheers Gillaroo
  24. Deal done and would recommend buying from Arthur again Cheers Gillaroo
