  5. That is a top bag boys. Well done to you both.
  6. Well done boys. A lot of reccying and mileage needed nowadays for a big bag of any kind.
  7. Top bags again boys. And I totally agree with you. Recce! Recce! Recce!. Been known to sit for an hour sometimes watching before setting up.
  8. After our big bag on Sunday and seeing how many geese were in the area, we setup the decoys about 5.30pm and spread out around the hedgerows. It was very quiet at first and only saw one Skein come over. A couple of geese were dropped out of that one. Then, we moved positions and called the geese from a different angle. This worked brilliantly. We had a few skeins come over and a couple of them coming back round again. We ended up with 15 shot. 12 Canada's and 3 greylags. Lugs, Lee and Ag all had a nice double-decker each. And I personally had a lovely triple. Boom! Boom! Boom! Not the same quantity we had fly over at the weekend(well over 400+) but a good flighting all the same. We then spent over an hour breasting and crowning them and took a fair few for the farmer and his dogs. My bag earlier on, waiting for the boys to arrive. My hide for the goose flight. The geese flew in over the top of the wood. Decoys out at the ready. Dropping in at last. They're coming in. The final result Dave K

  13. After the 82 shot yesterday . What a day we had today. We split up at first and went looking for the pigeons. I found over 500 on the first farm and decided to set up straight away. The other boys had set up elsewhere. I started to get birds coming in very slowly but steady. I had shot about 30 birds when the boys decided to join me. Paul had shot 14 pigeons and 33 blackies and a magpie.Between myself Alan and Lugs we shot 131 pigeons and 85 blackies for a bag of 216. Total bag 264 birds. We picked up and sacked the birds and then decided to stop on, to see if any Geese were flying about and clock the flightlines for next week That was an understatement. All told we had over 400 flying over the fields and 4 or 5 Skeins came in close enough to where we were watching , sat in the Jeeps. We now know where the decoys are going to be placed tomorrow or tuesday night
  14. I have many short videos of us but funny; that I only said yesterday to the lads, it was a shame we hadn't shot that hour and half on video. The only problem is - Who is going to do the filming? Just for you cosd. One of my old favourites.
  15. Nice one boys. Glad to see you are still getting some. It's hard work finding them at the moment. We certainly did this weekend.
  16. Saturday Myself and Alan went out yesterday to a farm that had cut 350 acres of wheat . Not a bird in sight.Gutted. !!!! Drove round numerous farms and didn't see a bird in the sky. Headed back to a field where we shot 1,600 birds in a week last year as it is always a good flight-line .There were a fair few birds on the stubble , so we set up about 1.00pm. The birds just kept coming and coming all day .Young "Lugs" joined us for an hour and shot 22. Packed up at 6.30pm Shot 151 Goes to get my Jeep and Flat battery. My mate had left the ignition key on and radio playing. Doh!!!!!! Jump start from Lugs Sunday Well, after a bit of a letdown on the wheat; where we had a 150 bag yesterday; we went mooching and the boys Lee and "Lugs"found some on the peas standing crop. They setup and had shot about 30 or so when I arrived to join them. The pigeons were flying past and decoying steady up until 1.00pm and then they just switched on. We were banging away at all manner of birds. Left to right crossers, brick droppers, moon walkers; you name it we had every manner of bird available. The banter in the hide was brilliant. **** taking, compliments, the works Then about an hour later the combine came into the field to cut the crop. Nooooooo!!!!!!! Young Lee Dixon had a word with the farmer and he very kindly agreed to cut the adjoining field first. Phew!!!!!! He started combining and the birds went crazy. We shot non stop for the next 2 1/2 hours and shot 160 in that time. Alan and Paul had shot 45 and all told we had shot 318 pigeons. nightmare picking all the shells and birds up, but got to be done. What a day and what a weekend. Over 469 birds. Big thanks to Lee Dixon for the opportunity. Oh. and before any keyboard warriors start. I know my camera is a day out. !!!!
  17. After yesterday's malady with the collapsed Shooter; who by the way had an Embolism. Scans to follow and he's still in Hospital, I was out early mooching over all the farms that had combined the barley this week. I got a phone call from the farmer with the best shooting fields in the whole of the U.K., Last year we shot 756 pigeons on the Saturday and 258 on the Sunday. Well over 1,000 pigeons that weekend, And another 800 in the following 5 days. As soon as he said he had finished combining yesterday, I was over there like a shot. There weren't nowhere near as much as last year but enough to setup on. Later on in the afternoon I was joined by Tim Robins. He set up on another field from me but it was slow and I had just shot the 100; so I told him to setup about 30 yards along the hedgerow from me. We shot steady up until 6.00 o'clock and then THE DREADED BLOODY PLOUGH came into the field. AAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!! One bloody day that's all. I ended up shooting 118 pigeons 61 blackies and Tim had 55 pigeons and a magpie. Total shot 235
