    New kitchen

I'm by no means an expert but am reasonable able working with wood (purely DIY) and have fitted a hand full of kitchens myself. This last one I fitted is a Howdens top end kitchen and my first time using them. I don't know if the quality differs across their range but I found the quality of the construction to be pretty solid with 18mm cabinets and 6mm MDF back boards. I'm not quite sure what a "balancer" is, but if it has anything to do with their worktops then I have no idea as I used quartz through a specialist company. Their service was excellent, their kitchen wasn't cheap when I compare it to (a very good) trade price I can get from Magnet, and their appliance prices I couldn't match anywhere on the internet; My biggest gripe with Howdens was the construction accuracy, and where the cabinets were not all completely square. On a 3.1m island made up of 4 cabinets they were out by 6mm in total which really isn't good enough in my books, especially when they brand themselves as joiners!! Other than that, I am pleased with the overall package including the hardware they provide which is excellent. Cos
  2. Unless you experience trying to drill into super hard concrete and finding your trusted normal hammer drill won't even scratch the surface, it's near impossible to imagine how anything can go through it with ease like an SDS can. Great that you got your job done!! Cos
  3. Hey Mungler My brother works in the window game, even if you just want to have a chat with him for advice or possibly buy through him, send me a text/pm and I'll ping you his mobile number I'd be happy to ask him to look after you..... Cos

Not coz I is Greek and all that , but Metaxa 7 star is lovely and the Metaxa 12 star is even better. With Metaxa, the more stars the better, but starting from 7 and upwards, I doubt your friend would be disappointing. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Metaxa-Original-Greek-Spirit-Stars/dp/B0029RF0FW/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1523464565&sr=1-1&keywords=metaxa+7+star https://www.amazon.co.uk/Metaxa-Original-Greek-Spirit-Stars/dp/B00AB24M4C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1523464195&sr=8-1&keywords=metaxa+12+star#customerReviews
  5. Is it possible that you are waiting for the birds to commit before taking a shot? How close are they getting before "swerving" away? I've had many decoy sessions where the shooting is based on birds coming within range but because I know they won't commit you are forced to shoot at a longer range or sooner than you would do if they were committing to land; I'm not suggesting shooting birds outside of your comfort range, but I have seen people not taking a shot because they are waiting for the bird to come in closer. Ranging something in the air is harder than if it were on the ground, if you're a little unsure, put a couple of markers out in the field say 30 or 35 yards (everybody's shooting range will differ), that way it's easier to gauge that they are within your shooting range. Also you haven't described the position of your hide, decoy pattern, magnet position, field layouts, flight line, wind direction etc, It's possible that someone could advise you to set your hide up on a different part of the field you have access to. It could be that you are setting up as close to the flight line as possible, but the birds have less time to see your decoys, therefore setting up further away would give the birds a longer time to see your decoys/magnet as they continue on there flight path. I think it was Motty that mentioned previously, but try different things, be prepared to change it about and learn from everything you do and always take note on how the birds react.
  6. Not able to find this Can anyone put up a link please.
  7. What gets me is people who can't string a sentence without using an emoji
  8. it has nothing to do with the rebar, its the concrete he can't drill.
  9. Family and business is a big no no for me. I get on super well with my brother in law who is a high end property developer and has teams of builders; He would do anything for me at cost price, but for the sake of our friendship and relationship, I have never and would never use him.
  10. Hey Phil, it's been a long time! So what's the new shooting wagon now?
  11. Some lintels are so hard, it isn't the drill bits that are the problem, it's the drill. I speak from experience having ruined many drill bits when all I had was a Dewalt hammer drill. For anyone who hasn't used an SDS before, the difference is incredible.
  12. Where are you? If local, I have a cordless SDS drill you can borrow which will go through a lintel with ease.

    New kitchen

Wren have a reputation for poor service and so it seems their fitting is equally poor my sister had a nightmare with them I was so tempted to buy from them and in the end I decided not for that reason only as their kitchens are pretty decent. Went to Howdens in the end, they don’t have glitzy showrooms but the quality is very good. fitting was really good according to the wife, I’m biased but that’s because I fitted it ?
  15. Hunters are merely a designer label now. I would imagine the majority of their customers live in town centres and don’t buy them for what they were originally designed for. I tried a pair on some four plus years ago, costing around £150 and they were so uncomfortable. I bought leather lined Aigles instead and they are so comfortable and still look like new. I don’t know what rubber they use but it is sturdy yet really supple.
  16. To be fair, I've only encountered having to ask for a PUK code when you're switching suppliers, never thought you'd need to pull that one when staying with the same company. If you'd prefer your old number, I'd call them back and say you was given incorrect advice.
  17. You learn something new every day!! I always thought it was the colour of the cartridge which determined the power; No need to keep buying the green ones then!!
  18. Heads up post more than anything else. I know when I was there with both my girls starting driving just 6 months apart, car insurance is a real hard pill to swallow. The costs are eye watering to say the least. In short, I paid around £1600 each for them both on Fiat 500's, 1.2l engines, through a company called Smart Miles and with a black box; Fully comp and loads of extra's, breakdown, replacing lost keys etc etc. After the first year renewals came in at just over £500 with all the extra's and keeping the black box. Just had one of their renewals come in again (3rd year renewals) and price was £460 which was just £20 more than the cheapest quote I could find on any of the comparison websites. Considering how insurance companies work now, I was quite pleased with this and had no issue paying what they asked for. Cos
  19. You can tell them you will take your existing number which you're entitled to, just ask for the PUK code; Then when you sign up your wife with new contract and new number you give them the PUK code and they replace the new number with your old one.
  20. Very happy with mine, mainly used for pigeon shooting but even with really heavy loads it's a soft shooting gun. I haven't used the older model so can't compare unfortunately. If you've used one, you'll know it isn't overly heavy but not particularly light either, but that's one of the reasons I went for it, that might be a deal breaker for someone else though. Very reliable and I particularly like the matt finish on the barrel. Forgot to add, they can be stripped down including the trigger mechanism in zero time; Sounds silly but the quick release forend cap is excellent
  21. I use AT2's on my DIsco 2, great off road, no rumble on the road and still look like new after at least a couple of years and a fair few miles on them. I would definitely buy again as I can't fault them in any conditions. Cos
  22. Excellent video Jd, just delete your previous post and we'll pretend it was you
  23. Yep got those as well. As said earlier, I already have a whole load of various skewers, I have around 30 normal size skewers (approx 400mm plus handle), 6 skewers which are about 1m long, a dozen of the flat type you mentioned, a whole bunch of various wire grills, plus some odds and ****. These ones I'm looking for....................... I just need......because I do Mate, if they're stainless they'll last a lifetime; I've had some of mine some 25 years now. My uncle made my BBQ for me in Cyprus and sent it over for me, it's made of 3mm Stainless Steel, approximately 1m long by 350wide and lined with heat bricks; Thats over 20 years old!
