  4. Yeah, I do. Its the rubber out of the previous discovery model I had. With regards to the crack. I thought it was quite loud at first, being used to the 22lr subs. Getting used to it now though and the bunnies dont seem to bothered actually, especially at the longer ranges. It doesnt seem to have much worse effect than the 22lr to be honest, the bunnies used to run after I fired that too, with the odd one staying around - Similar to what happens when firing the HMR. VERY shy bunnies all over my permish, which is strange cos not many shoot it. (Must be my aftershave eh?). I may cause more problems on a still night though, will wait for autumn to find out. Mack
  5. Yup, thats the next job. 21" plus silencer is sooooo long! Chopping to 14" to match my 22lr. Mack
  6. lol. Ready for all occasions
  7. Been out today with the HMR I bought from Dr James yesterday. Here it is suited and booted and with its first batch of bunnies. Most of these were taken at around 100 yds. The extra range and accuracy of the HMR is going to be a big benefit on my shy-rabbit permission. Well Impressed!!!! Mack
  8. Had similar sport plonked at the base of a large beech tree in a small copse in the centre of a large field. No deeks, no magnet, just Birds coming straight into me. Great sport and it goes to show - location, location, location. Mack
  9. YHPM THX MACK, I have received your PM and spoke to you over the phone. Look forward to seeing you tomorrow SATURDAY lunch time. Thx to all the other PM`s from PW`s who where interested in this .17HMR but MACK has just as good as bought it when he gives me the cash tomorrow. I will even take him onto 1 of my farms as a guest to have a fire of it. SOLD THX MACK for a smooth transaction & a very polite man Loved the dog by the way (Bedlington Terriea) Nice one Doc. Looking forward to putting the hummer to good use. Great transaction. Mack
  10. Dont just go for the eyes. Theres an increased chance of maiming from airgun pellets hitting the eye or around the eye area. Its also nearer the nose area which means a slight miss can cause more injuries. Aim for behind the eye, between the eye and the base of the ear, thats the kill zone. Granted, eye shots may still kill but why aim for them? Having said that, if the angle means that going through the eye would hit the brainbox behind it then so be it. Mack
  11. Thats the awful bit, not knowing.... It was a sleepless night. Thanks for your comments guys, youve eased my mind. Ill get a collar and put number and postcode on it. Now GPS tracker...that would be cool, least Id know where shed been all bloody night. Mack
  12. Had a fright this week when the dog went missing for 24 hours. Ive decided to have her chipped and also considering buying a collar. I dont like collars generally and I dont like the idea of collars getting caught in undergrowth and hedges etc. Shes not a working dog but all around us are fields and hedges and woods. Is there a kind of collar that will release with pressure perhaps? Cant decide whether to get one or not. Any thoughts guys? Mack
