  1. How much difference is their optically between the classic and victory range of scopes? The 2.5-10x50 victory is only about £100 more expensive than the classic. I understand the victory range is lighter and more compact, but are they signifigantly better than the classic range optically?
  2. Altberg. English made and quality boots. Have just got myself the Warrior boot and to saythey are is superb is an understatement! Buy yourself some quality boots. They will last longer and will save your feet from alot of aggro. Try a range of different makes and choose the ones which feel the best. I had a pair of Magnums and learned the hard way that cheap boots aren't worth it.
  3. I would save up a little longer. They maybe alright, but experience has taught me to be wary of cheap things in general. Something like a Winchester X3 or Browning Gold would be better IMO.
  4. I would try to overcome your dislike of semi autos. As Mikee said, a few shots using heavy loads and you'll certainly know about it. If it had to be an o/u I'd go for the Browning over the Beretta.

    Ghost's

Have you read the woman in black? That almost put me off wildfowling for life.
  6. No, but you did imply it. Quite frankly, the thought of handguns being licensed for 'personal protection' worries me.
  7. It should be printed on the barrels, or the proof marks should reveal the answer.
  8. I think army netting is stil the best taking costs, versatility and ease of replacement into account.
  9. It's a gray area, which sadly no one seems to want to cover.
  10. Not to my knowlege, but let's face it: half the police force don't know what the law on firearms are
  11. No part of the privledge is going to defend my loved ones. In the UK it is not acceptable to use firearms to defend yourself, although you still have the right to defend yourself.
  12. And that as well. My grandfathers stories about Buffalo hunting to kept excited for days, when I was young.
  13. Twilight factor is not a method of measuring performance in low light. Take for example a 6x42 scope. To work out the twilight factor you multiply 6 x 42=252. Square root that=15.87, so you have have a twilight factor of 15.9. However, this is doesn't demonstrate the scopes performance in low light conditions. A 6x42 scope from Swarovski, Zeiss, S&B etc., will have the same twilight factor as a 6x42 scope from an anonymous chinese brand that costs you a fiver of fleabay, and obviously the difference in performance is very noticeable indeed! Hope this helps.
  14. 500,000! Yeah right. That website is crawling with stupid conspiracy articles. I wouldn't take anything I read on there entirely seriously. Dresden was a bad thing, but I reject claims that it was the same as the Holocaust or the massacres against any other ethnic groups by Hitler.
  15. Land is a nightmare down south. Frustrating as it is, keep trying. You may just find some yet!
  16. I would look at a Benelli 12/20 bore. If you don't want to stretch that far, think about the Hatsan youth model.
  17. A Benelli SBE II, a Sako 85 s/s in .25-06 with a Zeiss 6x42 scope and a pair of Zeiss 7x42 Victory FL binoculars.... I have expensive tastes
  18. You mean practical shotgunning?
  19. I take your point, but in the UK laws regarding gun control have been slowly pushed forward over a number of years. In the UK, it is a privledge to own a firearm, not a right.
  20. I wouldn't want US style gun laws. My uncle went into a gun shop in the US, and 24 hours later went back and collected his revolver. Now I don't mind if that happens in the US, but I sure as hell wouldn't want those kind of laws in this country. I'm happy about the firearm laws in this country (with the exception of the handgun ban).
