  1. I walk the dog round Boddington everyday, its been steadily rising since Christmas and is now back up to the bottom step of the pegs but still about four or five feet under the wier at the far end. The reason it was near empty is because they broke the sluice gate at nearby Clattercote so only Bodddington and the small Wormlieghton were topping up the Grand Union Canal, the gate is now fixed so shouldnt be a problem this year. If you do get back there the last pegs on the right hand side as you look from the road fish very well, total catches regularly hit treble figures in pounds. Good Luck.

Dont get talked into a HTC Tatoo like I did was ok at first but has been in for repair twice now, this is not an isolated case lots of people have had the same issues, its well documented on vodafones own whinge forum. Come to think of it you might take a look a vodafoness whinge forum, at least you can see which phone to avoid. 18 and 24 month contracts as well now thats a long time to be tied to a carp phone.

  13. I think the revenue uses the term "must be seen to be taking a financial risk" to qualify as being truly self employed , a carpenter I know used to get his lads to supply their own screws and never had a problem. Dont know why they changed from the old 715 it seemed to work fine, and I always used to get a lump back just before christmas!

My missus " Does my bum look big in this?" Me "last time I saw an **** that big it had a tranquiliser dart hanging out of it"
  16. Thats a big blow for the two sons, despite all the shouting you could tell the three of them were really close. One of my favorite moments wa when Phil made straining noises on the tannoy as his youngest lifted a coil of rope back into the pot, its the sort of thing my old man would have done.
  17. The drop in pressure could be down to a faulty pressure vessel, the heating system water will expand as it warms up this expansion needs to go somewhere so they use a vessel with a rubber membrane in it and air cushion to take up the expansion. Its common for the membrane to fail especially when a new boiler goes on to an old system, the system pressure increases on heating and with the air cushion gone has nowhere to go so it weeps out the pressure relief valve and runs outside. When the system cools the pressure drops and needs to be replenished and the whole cycle starts again and the more fresh water you add the less inhibitor(Fernox) is left in the system causing corrosion over time. Its sometimes difficult to see if the relief pipe has been running so I cut the finger off a rubber glove and put it over the end of the relief pipe and check it later. This would be my first port of call before addressing the other problems, Good luck Regards PB
  18. Yep power supply was dodgy, mother board was on its last legs, the graphics card was working but just pants by todays standards and the memory wasnt big enough for some of the software we use. I just thought it was easier to get a new one built. Would you belive it the laptop packed up just after! Thanks again to all for your replies.
  19. Cheers thanks for your replies , just glad I asked for the hard drives back and did'nt let the chap in the shop drill a hole through them and dispose of them as he suggested.
  20. Recently the desktop packed up, we took it to the local independant shop to try and get it sorted out and ended up with a new computer. I half expected this and wasnt suprised by his price on a new one. Now the problem is when he transfered the files from the old hard drives some appear to have vanished, he said there were no viruses on the old drives so my question is if I was to get the right size enclosure with usb lead can I just plug them into the new desktop as removeable storage and pick out the required files? I would take it back to the shop but its busy at work and I cant get there during the week and could do with getting the files back. Im probably barking up the wrong tree but would appreciate any advice. Thanks PB
  21. I remember reading somewhere that you could "rouse" the yeast to get fermentation going again, from experience adding sugar raises alcohol content but makes the brew undrinkable. best of luck PB

  24. Recently bought a Peacock one, very impressed indeed at full capacity it easily does the 24hrs. It was too hot to hold onto at times. Beware cheap imitations bought from fleabay.
  25. I would'nt touch any allen bolts unless you are sure its the air bleed and presssure test point, you could be adjusting the pump pressure causing the boiler to soot up or peter out. Undo the flexible oil line and let it run through by gravity, by far the safest bet.
