What bait are you using to bring these foxs into shotgun range. Ones set up right next to one of the game keepers fedders and kills all the birds feeding on it it looks like a gamebird grave yard. When I get my shot gun cert I was hoping to go out and get him on my own. I would love to go before but my dad doesn't stop talking! :blink:

Well im thinking about getting some Flexicoys. I havent been out on my own yet so I dont need to own my own decoys. But im 15 now so when I get my ShotGun cert Im gonna need my own when Im out on my own. Alright Flexicoys are expensive but Im only going to need a few I can always use some shot birds to. If you have got the money I would go for the Flexicoys. :blink:

I use a side by side spanish one for roosting. There brillant for this as there isnt much shot in them when or if you eat them. I also use mine for rabbits rats and tree rats I stick to sitting targets but thats because Im new to shooting you could certainly kill any thing cleanly at shot range flying. The carts are a rip off though. Still there nice little guns. :blink:

German Short Haired pointers can be stupid ! The troble is because they need good training. My uncles is alright but my mates got one thats a pain in the back side I feal like kicking it sometimes it bit me once so I did. There good dogs for Deer they have a grate nose but I gess there to hard to train your better off geting a more popular breed.

Well my uncle Had a german short Haired pointer but I dont know how easy they are to train. The point to the game flush it and then pick it up for you (Well there supposed to!) there nice looking dogs I want to get one but there about £400! oh well maybe one day.

Well Iv got a 22 Air Arms s200 and I had the same problem I couldnt hit pigeons in the head because they kept moving them about and body shots went working. So I asked my mate and he recokend to take them broadside just were the wing joins on the brest. I tryed it and It worked I was shocked how quickley it killed. Pigeons seam quite fat as well that proberly makes it harder for the pellet to get through.

Well Im only just applying for my shotgun cert but I better get my firearms cert sharpish. If I have a FAC as far as im concerned I should be able to keep it if the new law comes in then I gess I will have to give it up but its getting stupid just because they cant stop people in the town shooting each outher they decide to tighten Leagle gun laws just to make it look like their doing someting. its really getting stupid!

Thats what I thought I sor them in the Sporting gun advert a while ago next to some cheaper decoys and they looked twice as good but they are nearly double the price. Oh well you only live once Im gonna get me some I think they look great! Iv got plently to spend and my dad says he can help as well.

Swamp Donkeys ! They look prettty dumb but I bet there Just as brainy as deer though. I wish they had Crown Land In The U.K i would love to have a change of Hunting scenes once in a while still most of the best trophy animals in this country are on private managed land so i gess were lucky. Do you know any game wardens Park rangers Iv always wanted to be one!

My G.P is going to be a referee for my lisence. I know it sound stupid but iv known him since I was little and we even went fishing together a while back he's a great laugh. I gess I do need more to learn about shooting Im getting better but I must admit Im no way near the sort of skill of my mates I cant get over it but most people in my familey have shot rifles Most of my Aunts Uncles were into shooting deer alough my uncle is a gamekeeper and he lets me practice on his clay trap i did get quite good on that before I started shooting at live birds. New to the flock Do you hunt on public grounds or on private lands? My friends Dad went over to The U.S and said there are some places you can go were you can hunt for free provided you have a licence or a permit is this the same in Canada? I would love to go Moose hunting I dont know why I just love moose ever since I was little Iv wanted to go and bag one I think its Just because there the biggest of the deer familey still I bet they look good on the wall!

If I was to buy some Expensive type decoys or even normall ones could I replace them with birds I have frozen. I shot two in my back garden once and placed them in the farm yard it seamed to bring the pigeons down. I dont know why but some of the cheaper decoys look all shiney does it make any difference?

Thanks Yorkshire pudding my dad was on about making a pigeon magnet type devise I didnt really belive that he could do it but a couple of farmers my dad new used to make them to bring in the odd pidgeon or to. My dad works on the farm and sometimes helps the gamekeeper out He got me into beating on the estate shoot, someone invited me Pigeon Shooting with the keeper I went and I was Hooked!

Iv got quite a bit of money to spend on decoys I was looking at flexicoys what are they like what makes them special? They look posh. P.S The decoys that I have used with the keeper you could squezze them and they would re inflate they were nice what are they called?

My dad brought me "The Pigeon Shooter" By John Batley is a great book and I have learnt many things from it i sort of know how to build a hide and the pages on this site and The Pigeon Watch main page have been very usefull. So I think all I need are some decoys a few hide poles and net. Iv got some cammo clothes from my air gunning days and like you said once the hides built I should be well on my way. Iv seen some wire type holders they hold a dead bird or decoy off the ground so it looks like Its flying so I might go for one or two of them as well. I cant wait!
