  1. So if you pay your ‘Stamp’ all your life you get the state pensions, but if you don’t you get pension credit so you get the same as state pension? Tough call. No one wants to see elderly people in bad situations but what’s the point of having a system you have to pay a stamp for and then just giving it to people who don’t pay it anyways.
  2. I think this has been questioned lately on the basis of people charging as guides for days out: EG pigeon guides, goose guides, crow shooting experiences etc. Blokes charging lads with no land several hundred ££ for a “days sport” as you would with driven shooting. People complaining are the same people who go mental and jump up and down with steam coming out of their ears when they see someone post a bag of wood pigeons saying they’re for eating / for the pot. “You’re not allowed to shoot them for the pot!!!” Without taking account of the fact you can do essential pest control and still eat the birds. Until someone challenges it in court and wins keep on carrying on.

Jason Bateman was brilliant in it 👍🏻
  4. Wasn’t it around £15 per badger? Out all hours of the night in your own vehicle, own fuel, own guns & ammo, own liability / cost when the anti’s smash your truck up. Know of several lads who jacked it in. 😬 More government bodies under appreciating people doing the actual work!
  5. Check that you can use TSS through full choke. I may have read that it needs to be under 1/2 choke, but can’t remember fully. I do know it patterns so well / dense that open chokes (cylinder?) are usually used.
  6. With my dad just having develop dementia at 68, I thought sod working until that age, and I was going to take my private pension as early as possible and try to make do. That would have been at 58! 25 years to go. If they put this up however it’ll change to 61 (or god knows how much higher by then!).
  7. Yep, and of those 33m in work, how many of them are part time / low earners? How many will be working a handful of hours and claiming working tax credits to top up? The average median income of all workers (part and full time) is £27,756. Someone on that money pays £1518.60 a year in national insurance. If all 33m paid that amount on average it’s around £50B a year (but a lot won’t pay in!). The benefit expenditure a year is around £230B+ a year. No wonder they keep putting the pension age up! Perhaps they should stop paying the stamp of people not working? They’ve not paid in so why are they getting the stamp and the full pension as someone who’s worked all their lives?
  8. Bloody Hipsters! It’s “cool” to support the current trend and virtue signal. Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ+, Extinction Rebellion, Isreal / Gaza. Most of them couldn’t tell you where the country even is and what the issues are. The same people who would be stoned to death in Gaza out with their free Palestine boards. They’ll move on to the new trendy cause before long. Will need a new Facebook or instagram pic.
  9. Keep going to the GP often enough they’ll diagnose you something just so you stop turning up. My friend (a GP) complained about the endless time taken doing sickness notes for people he felt could be working. When I asked him why he fills them out, he said “I’m not the DWP! It’s not my job to fully investigate their claims or being unfit!” … basically too much work / bother. Always amazes me the number of brand new cars around the estates. All on motability!
  10. Pension credit / Housing benefits, Assistance Allowance, Personal Independence payment/ DLA. Mot ability car & council tax reduction.
  11. You won’t be able to take that until much later now if they put the state age limit up!
  12. UK population just under 68,000,000. 21,600,000 are on benefits of some form (a good chunk pensioners, having tops, housing benefit etc). I imagine the bigger problem is people not paying in at all, not people starting work a few years later.
  13. Be lucky to even live that long! 😭 https://apple.news/A_yI7q6knSdOsaAglMLY4Bw
  14. I bet Americans own the majority 🤣 if only we could buy endless guns just cos they take our fancy.
  15. Yes I saw a few gees white full on with 42g 4’s and fly off. The steel 50g BB’s dropped them a lot harder. I think the lead equivalent would be around 1 shot or thereabouts.
  16. Good mate, I am glad to hear it, my words were in good spirit and hope you carry on in various roles for many more years to come
  17. Is it Clive Ward? He’s awful for replying / waiting times on stuff from what it seems, but I do believe that he is no thief. Whst did you order? Check the emails didn’t go into your junk folder (may have auto wiped by now sadly).
  18. Sad to see a few sportsmen hanging up their hats and calling it a day. Stay active lads, keep getting out in the countryside, keeps you and the dog fit. You need something to keep you going!
  19. The pay is peanuts for the amount of work, risk, unsocial hours/shifts etc. They are recruiting university leavers and young people early in their careers who are currently in fairly low paid positions so don’t realise how awful the pay and conditions are, and are used to living in house shares where they’re renting a room and so aren’t expecting a normal standard of living. They are losing staff to all sorts of other jobs where the pay is better / similar without the shift work / hours, huge workload and massive criticism. They are also definitely not street wise / world wise and it adds to the risk and issues. They also then have to promote from these pools of people as that’s the majority of staff they have, and those same staff end up in senior / detective roles, hence the stats on prosecutions being so poor. There are some fantastic officers in the job working their ***** off but they can only do so much. I imagine people will however make silly comments saying that cuts to public services aren’t to blame and the Police are just lazy and have loads of cash.
  20. The team I manage deals with these week in week out. I won’t say too much but these stabbings and attacks are a weekly occurrence and have a deep impact on everyone who deals with the cases. A very sad loss of life. A silly comment considering that man sentenced last week was detained under the Mental Health Act, and those who work with the act know that he’ll never get out of the forensic MH system. Unlike a prison sentence which has a time limit.
  21. Mine would put 5 pellets through one tiny ragged hole at 25+ yards. I sold it though as it was just too heavy and not getting used.
  22. This is another one of those questions that’s better asked of your Licencing department than asking a bunch of strangers on the internet. If you have any issues (however very unlikely), it’s your Licencing department that will be asked, not an internet forum.
  23. Our local Caribbean place does curried goat and it’s absolutely lovely!
