  1. Mine is black, I think its the very latest ones that have the red tint? Just dug the instructions out, its a LE46F8 if that means anything to you?
  2. Whats LCD being replaced by LED? I recently bought a 46" Samsung LCD, not sure on the model number - its 1080p and 100htz 30,000 - 1 contrast I'm very pleased with it. I use a Sony cinema system so the TV sound not an issue.

    H&N Coppa point

You might find the RWS a little lighter than the Bisleys, which would raise your point of impact slightly. Just have a quick zero check before you start shooting properly.

RWS pellets are excellent for the money, and most rifles seem to perform well with them.
  5. I've never had any probs with my S410 carbine and the mags work faultlesly. There is a 10 shot convesion for the S400 now being made that bolts on, but you have to index the mag youself rather than the bolt doing it. Have you asked at the shop where you bought your S400, they might be prepared to do you an upgrade deal?
  6. If you go with the air rifle route I'd recomend a springer, as the charging gear for a PCP can really push up your budget. You'll want a reasonable scope on it, which start around £50. The gun itself I'd go for one of the respected manufacturers. The Air Arms TX200 and Weihrauch HW97 are both stunningly good, though on the heavy side - around £300 new . BSA's Lightning is a lighter (and cheaper) alternative - around £200.If your prepared to go secondhand you could get a decent complete set up for your £2-300.
  7. I love my carbine, nice and well balanced. Also the shorter barrel allows you to fit a silencer and still have a compact set-up. My .177 gives 60 consistant shots - a .22 will give more. The only reason I would go classic is if I went FAC with it. It's also possible to make a hybrid - a carbine barrel combined with a classic cylinder.
  8. You need to find out for youself really - not all barrels like the same pellets. Mine liked Accupels and Mozzie Express
  9. Yes, sorry I didn't make that clear. After they'd been shot you just re-filled them with air and put another pellet in. I always fancied one, but doesn't look like I'll be getting one now!
  10. There are some on that well known auction site for £20 and some universal ones for £10
  11. The Brocock cartridges are similar in appearance to regular bullets, but contain compressed air rather than an explosive. They can be charged either by a bottle or a pump. The most popular Brococks were their range of pistol revolvers. The reason they were banned is the Government claimed the pistols could be adapted to fire live rounds (although this would likely result in the pistol exploding) If you already owned one at the time of the ban you could continue to do so, but it had to be licenced. It is illegal to sell or swap them, if you want rid of one it has to be handed in and destroyed. To all intents and purposes they are now a section 5 prohibited weapon.
  12. Are the newest mags all metal? I've got one of the first Goldstars which had all metal mags, must have had half a million pellets through it with no probs. I've also got a .177 Goldstar with plastic mags and they are far inferior, may have to invest in some new ones
  13. If its over 12ft/lbs mate, its section 1 FAC - irrespective of when it was manufactured. Some guns are indeed designed to run at FAC levels and de-tuned for the UK market - most Weihrauchs have a couple of coils lopped off the end of the spring to drop them under our limits.
  14. Silencers work well on pre-charge air guns, but on springers you can't hide the mechanical noise. I've got a Logun silencer that fits on my BSA Goldstar (similar size and shape to your 77) It does actually make the gun a fair bit quieter - but its flipping massive! Its about another ten inches on the end of the barrel, may as well just fit a bayonet and forget about shooting them! I wouldn't bother if I were you.
  15. I've just got back from Spain and I was looking at one of these over there. I don't really need one, as I've got severeal air rifles, pistols and a shotgun, but they do look like fun! As had been said though, it would have to be on FAC
  16. .177 is the best for targets, but it just doesn't hit as hard as .22. I've got .177, .22 and .25 - if it had to be just one, then .22 gets the nod as the best all rounder.
  17. Guns International in Barnsley are great, though sadly only airguns these days. Excellent service and Carl is an excellent gunsmith Euroguns in Doncaster gave me good service when I bought my shottie, but sorry guys, when I've just spent nearly 2k I don't think chucking in a £20 gun slip would have killed you (the guy nearly choked on his coffee when I asked)

  20. I got a Bisley one off e-Bay too for £10
  21. The older Webleys that were made in Birmingham were good guns, on a par with the BSA's I'd say. Unfortunatley they are now produced in Turkey. While I've not actually shot a Turkish Webley, I've not heard many favourable comments on them
  22. Thanks Pete, I'm away for a couple of weeks now but once I'm back I'll come along
  23. Hi guys, I'm new to this forum too. I've just started out clay shooting, after years of airgunning. I live in Wakefield, so I may well be up for a shoot at the Reindeer - only put 60 carts through my gun so far!
  24. The Lightning is an excellent little rifle, though can be a little jumpy in .177. My .25 Lightning is a cracker As for the older BSA's I've two Goldstars, a .177 and a .22. Both fantastic rifles to shoot and ultra reliable. Nice ones still fetch good money, and I can well understand it.
  25. Hi mate, not plastic, but the Air Arms S200 is a very lightweight and well balanced air rifle. I haven't tried, but I would think shooting it one handed wouldn't be a problem.
