  1. I see many road kill deer on my patch in Norfolk . Norfolk is over run with deer and they are becoming a real problem as far as running out onto the roads . A few years ago a well known farmer local to my patch was killed by a deer that had run out of the woods and was hit by his Range Rover . The deer a fallow Buck went through the windscreen and caused him to crash and roll over ,a terrible tragedy.

do you know that is EXCACTLY the same thing happened to my mates brother 25-30 years ago....coming thro Hainford on the aylsham road....as a result my mate stopped being a shepard and had to take over the family shoe buissness............

  2. Thanks guys , all interesting stuff. Badgers seem to be high up on the list with a high proportion of Pheasants and whatever you have got in abundance in your area.

There must be quite a few one offs as well , I know when our local naturalist was alive he kept a diary of the road kills on a stretch of the A47 between Yarmouth and Acle and when he put the results in the paper was interesting reading , there was often birds of prey , Swans , coypus and a variety of birds with only the odd Fox getting a mention.

I have only ever seen one Otter laying dead on the side of the road but I am sure you have seen some strange animals or birds as well .

now that would have been interesting...................

  3. We used to drive back from the pictures in Dundee and the roadside used to be full of baby rabbits, looking like they were daring each other to run under a car, the wife used to hate driving that stretch.

know the feeling...........when i used to take my daughter anywhere....i used to squash a few.....my cop out was to say..."its alright ..ive just stunned it"......................this went on for years............

well she is married and has a daughter of her own now ...and i was driving with her last week when she was taking my grandaughter to a Brownie sleepover.......yup ...she squashed a rabbit on the way there......said grandughter squealed in dismay............mum casually says...."dont worry darling"...."ive only stunned it"...........

i tell you that made me larf...

  4. trouble is the cock birds mark out and patrol their territory....and if that includes a road ...so be it............they are not machine savy.....to say the least they are a bit arrogant....its whore moans that dull the brain sense...........

  5. deer ...small and rabbits and pigeons....................thats from the house up to the main norwich road.....then on the acle yarmouth road foxes mostly and hares............

  6. If its old concrete screed there is little chance of damp, but as a general rule, you would put down a decent polythene first, or even an insulated membrane, its very cheap and is the correct way, especially on a newer screed. I had wood floors down on old screed in my bungalow, but i had the membrane laid first, and 2 years on they are perfect.

    This...............

go for a thick..ish insulation layer....as if it is an old concrete floor...even with the carpet on it it will "suck" the cold up thro the carpet .....and you will feel it beleive you me... :good:

  7. Tried decoying over onions but the birds cry off at the last minute and peel away ......

    that is awful................ :oops::lol:

    who writes your stuff anyway..

  8. hello, on a different note but still a reflection on this post i see the bishop of oxford has been talking on the homeless in the city saying more should be done, maybe he should build some nice homes in his large garden or on land the church owns,

a while ago....when the "refugees" first started to come in.....the bishops went on camera ....lambasting the british population that they should (them that had spare beds) take them in........the interveiwer asked 2 of the bishops (seperate interviews) as to why they couldnt set the ball rolling and take a couple in.............

the first one hummed and hahaad'...and said that the "clash of faiths would be a problem....and difficult to adjust to".....the other one came out with alsorts of political squit...and ended up saying "under his breath"....."besides...the wife has just had a new kitchen put in"....she wouldnt have any of it "....

    :lol::lol:

  9.

..............since then she has elocution lessons and several makeovers

not been very successful has it

you can not make a silk purse out of a sows ear

    Or you can't polish a ****!

thats what i was going to say......but thought i might get a visit from the mods...:lol:

  10. i remember when diane abbot first entered parliament..............since then she has elocution lessons and several makeovers....she is so condesending ...still...........

her electorate must think she is wonderful ...as she still returns to her seat every election.............

  11. Just heard on the news the morning ....that several archbishops (past and present)...are sending all their parishioners..and parrishes a letter on the forthcoming election.....................ADVISING THEM HOW TO VOTE covering key point political issues such as "migrant flows"..(their words) etc:

excuse me...isnt that a bit naughty........................?

correct me if im wrong but the last time the archbishop got involved in politics to that extent....he met a very sticky end.................something along the lines "who will rid me of this turbulent priest".........

    so to date..............

not that many years ago the church was pro-hunting anti gay....now they are pro-gay anti hunting.......the church is now run by an ex BP oil exertive......the church has invested their money in WONGA.....(believe they provided the start up capital) and now they are getting into politics....

look out for their manifesto.....that should be interesting...............

  12. I can't see why anyone in a purely financial sense would take advantage of a scrapage scheme. The last time it was done my mind was boggled and it still is.

    Me for example:

2002 diesel Skoda Octavia actual value £400, avg mpg 52 (actual)

2017 petrol Skoda Octavia 1.0, value cheapest i found £17,195, avg mpg claimed 58(we all know real world figures don't match up)

So to scrap my car even if they gave me £10,000 for mine would actually cost me a minimum of £7,195. So I'll be keeping my death dealing car and using the money I save by not scrapping it to repair it and buy fuel.

So I can only imagine the people who would take advantage of this would be people on the whole who could already afford it, while at the same time reducing the numbers of fuel efficient cars on the road for those who can least afford it. I understand that diesel is the new most evil thing in the world but shipping hundreds of new cars around the globe on boats and trains is hardly environmentally friendly. That's not to mention extracting and refining the new raw materials to make the new cars in the first place.

someone ran my vehicle dets' thro a "enviroment programm " on der computa....and as it was that age ...it ended up more enviromentally frendly than a plastic electric car....as so much of the vehicle had been recycled to make it....it wasnt replaced every 4 years...and didnt distroy africa in finding the cadium for the batteries.. :hmm:

  13. nice 4x4................its aaallll then damn electrics what put me off.....and i would be frightened getting into it without a wash and a shave.......think it would get very much a dirty used look inside if i had it.......put some decent tyres on it and im sure it would do the job... :good:
