I've seen their numbers increase where I shoot over the last five years or so. It's a good job they are very vocal and let you know when there are around. GH

I've been watching several hundred feeding along side a good number of crows on a field of maize stubble just across the road from my house in Hodnet for the last week. No-one shooting them, in fact it seems that no-one has permission on any of the land close by as I've never heard any shots in the last 18mths. Waste of a good opportunity! GH

What I find interesting is when I'm selling it goes cheap and when I'm buying it's expensive! GH

There is, of course, the Big Brother aspect! Privacy and all that. My doctor shoots, so it goes without saying, he will be fully aware if I become unsuitable to hold licenses. There's also a principle too....the police are there to uphold the law as is deemed by parliament and not to make their own variation. GH

Amazing things you have saw while in the field

Once had a Blackbird land on my shoulder whilst in full camo waiting for pigeon. Don't know who was more surprised. At least I knew my gear was working. GH -
I have stopped doing both the Lotto and the Euro millions and saved myself at least £40 a month. I have, though, joined the merry band doing the Postcode lottery (£10/mth). The extra balls now used in the lotto are ridiculous, no wonder it's another roll-over. GH

Struggled a bit at first but persevered and got the hang of it in the end. Most people don't like change I guess. GH -
No PM received as yet, sorry. I am a PW member! No idea why it doesn't say so. GH

No rape for third year running on one farm. The others never have grown it. He's gone over to peas and mustard cover crop followed by sugar beet on the wheat/barley stubbles. I never did any good on the rape but the peas don't seem any better at drawing the birds in round here. GH

Help! shotgun Bruising cheek everytime i shoot
Greenhunter replied to Squirrel101's topic in General Shooting Matters
The slip-on recoil pad lengthened the stock, that's probably what helped. It would probably help the OP too. GH -
Can't believe I just read that!!

I would have another XXV again any time. Light to carry, very quick to mount and shoot. Don't let the 25" barrels put you off, they have plenty of range if you are a good enough shot. GH

Went yesterday(Sat) and, yes Gunmakers Row was a bit disappointing! 3 dealers and one maker( iirc) However it did mean that there was time to see other things, which would have been missed had I spent the usual amount of time trawling round gun dealers looking to rid myself of my air rifle. Not sure about next year but I will be at the Shooting Show in Stoneleigh next time. GH

Would recommend the silhouette 16"s any day. Great, accurate rifles. GH

Think you might need to supply some measurements here. Anything used will just as likely be too small as too big, which is what you would want so it can be trimmed down. GH
