  1. www.gunbase.co.uk select features scroll down left column to stolen licenses and gun register, as used by gundealers/ traders and the like in the case of lost or stolen licences and firearms, its a bit sad that people think theyre simply renewed and not recorded, and your right I havent personally had any problems with northumbria licensing ,but I know plenty that have, but then again theyre mostly idiots in thier own little universe that believe **** like this doesnt happen.
  2. Military surplus 7.62/308 is about 30 a hundred up here if your target plinking you can reload for around 45p each for decent deer and target rounds.
  3. Funnily enough the police would probably turn up quicker if they reported you chasing them with a gun, even though they are in the wrong, even idiots are aware of the laws concerning firearms these days and theyll relish the thought of your arrest.

    RFD

Just posted a shotgun through my dealer in newcastle down to london £25 each for the dealers and £18.50 postage so £68.50 total,i think he used tnt not sure though.
  5. Well its obvious none of you are with northumbria police Ive never heard so much **** in my life that a lost licence would just be replaced without question, I can just imagine the anti headline tomorrow STOLEN OR LOST GUN LICENCES TOTALLY IGNORED AND REPLACED WITHOUT QUESTION BY LOCAL PLOD (GET REAL) it obviously hasnt happened to you,,as for not being needed to buy ammo etc Id be careful mentioning that on this site unless you still want a dealer to go to tomorrow. And by the way lost and stolen licences do get reported to local dealers etc or they did when I worked for three of them.Too many internet answer searchers and dreamers offering duff advice on this site,I suggest you all chuck your firearms licences in the bin then report them lost or stolen after 7 days and see what happens.
  6. Sorry Bignoel but, You need to report this straight away or the police can revoke the licence altogether and remove your guns, if someone finds it and tries to use it before they can put a stop on it youve got a problem if you have reported it ignore this, if not youll need to be on the ball, and if someone else hands it in before its reported itll cause you massive problems. A friend of mine got his stolen in a burglary which ended up revoked because it should have been locked away with his guns and not on the kitchen bench.
  7. Some idiot recently told people that BERETTA chokes fit hatsans as well, they do indeed screw in but then your barrels blow up,Personally I would stick to franchi chokes, theres plenty used franchis around to be able to find the correct chokes.

    chokes

Full and ex Full means tight and tighter shot pattern making closer shots a bit more difficult,if your doing ok with it stick with it, it will make you a better shot in the long run and improve your accuracy, the closer the target the tighter your shot pattern will be.If your struggling to hit up close you could also opt to get the chokes lapped out to say half and three quarter to widen up your shot pattern at closer range targets.
  9. Youll find that it eventually opens by itself with time, but I know what you mean by the final bit to eject the cartridge, my grandson puts the open barrels on his boot while pushing down on the stock with both hands to eject his,
  10. We had a guy used to report us for the same, shot hitting the roof etc, he got an official warning off the police for wasting thier time when we set up a gas gun in the field behind his house and he called the police saying it was happening right now,for some reason we were never bothered again.
  11. Ive used both sportsmatch and hawke no probs with either,
  12. I would ring the FO back and tell him the guy he reccomended has failed to turn up now five times and you are now ready to ring BASC because of him enforcing the mentor ****,also find your nearest firearms club Im sure you could get a more experienced shooter to join you willingly.
  13. A gunsmith could loosen either of the above guns or you could sit opening and closing for hours on end, loosening a gun is in theory reducing the lifespan as the smith has to start shaving lumps off to loosen it, it wouldnt be long before you were spending again to retighten, use is the best way with natural wear, youll find it wont take very long if your out even once a week.
  14. My wife and I were on holiday with friends 18 month ago when my mate had a massive heart attack and nearly didnt get home,he ended up in hospital for ten days, six days unconcious in intensive care, and a tube had to be put up his artery to open the valve in his heart, anyway he wasnt insured and the travel company (thompson) arranged the home journey for him and his wife, but to eliminate thier risk a nurse had to travel with them, total cost to pay £11,900 including hospital charges etc,and that was from greece. The post office has always been good for us on insurance might be worth a look.

    Eye surgery

I allready have a loss in my peripheral (side) L/R vision and my right eye has a 4mm blood spot in it, my long range vision is still adequate but everything is a blur within 20 feet even glasses are useless at this distance it also affects the muscle focusing properly.

    Eye surgery

Just received an appointment for eye surgery to be done after a yearly review (diabetic) both retinas are bleeding and are clouding my vision, anyone gone through this, the letter doesnt state if its laser or what but I will be in hospital for two days, a mates wife says she was only in for a couple of hours for laser so I dont know what to expect,I dont even like the thought of what they might do but if it keeps me shooting so be it.Anyone know how they do it (go on do your worst I can suffer it)
  18. Yep, me too, and as said earlier, shoot them where you can hit them. If your shot breaks a clay it's a kill, wherever. Slightly off topic, a shooting ground owner told me last week that they do not have driven birds any longer, as clubs have been sued by people being hit by broken clays. Worsley still has driven birds, but they're higher than they used to be I used to have a big problem hitting dropping birds, but I've suddenly got much better at it - don't know why I still find them easier rising or peaking, though I think some scorers try it on, if you shoot clays late, as they struggle to tell whether you hit it, or it broke on the ground. I think a lot of top shots cheat like this. I was refereeing once and there was a highish fast going away bird that had been stupidly set, so that it eventually hit a tree, if left or missed. The ideal kill point was half way to the tree, but some of these sneaky **** were leaving it till the last second and claiming a kill, whether they hit it or not  I had a few arguments that day Cheat I just cant see them quick enough anymore B) blind as a bat

Yes heard this and our little local club has had to put out marker pegs for spectators to stand behind as a safety measure from broken clays at a request from the insurance company.
  20. I had the same problem with a lab but walked in one day to find the grandson playing tug of war with him with the dummy silly little things like this knock your training for weeks it took ages and loads of treats to revert him back to releasing again, and the guy that got him says he still thinks hes playing at times and refuses to release.
  21. I was doing the same on a sporting shoot in penrith shooting the clay just above the ground on the second barrel shot and every time the marker stopped me and called a no bird, when I asked why he said the bird simulated pigeons dropping in front and would dissapear into the crop cover before my shot hit them so I had to shoot them higher up in the air, when I told him in my mind I was shooting on stubble he asked me to leave the stand and refused to score the card plonker.
  22. My wife had the same gun and the problem was the magazine tube was too tight for the cartridges causing slow reloads, browning had a load of bother on early ones and replaced the alloy tube mag with a steel wider one, hers nearly got slung a few times as well
