Konnie I have drilled reed canary grass this year and i mixed it with a nurse crop of reed millet,tanker millets and sorgum. Idea being that millets will provide flushing cover in year 1 then in year 2 reed canary will take over it was drilled on 20" rows you can go to 30" rows with reed canary. You do have a bit of a choice with broad leave weeds control.

I am sure the system works fine but I have to say I cash on the day would be my preferred option. I have had a few poor experiences. Make sure the shoot comes highly recommended, I hope your day works out for you SABS.

Sometimes you will find a flush of chickweed and possibly spring rape which are good food source, especially if no pre-emergence herbicide has not been applied.

If that was my new gun i would be sending it back to get the ejectors sorted!! Go shoot with quality birds you could hear them cartridge hitting the birds hard.

The last picture of the springer is fantastic. You should get a print made and frame it

b325, Great video very special drive. Could you tell me where the shoot is please. You can argue the height forever but i bet you had a great drive, I have been on far too many shoots who say they have got high pheasants when in reality they have one good drive. It looks like this shoot is worth a visit.

excellent, very patient at times good to see get them shot.

Great videos,probably the best i have seen from Powis Castle. I shot there two seasons ago we certainly did not see what i call quality apart from one drive, he was short of beaters and coud not get the pheasants where he wanted them. Hope you have a good end to the season Duffryn.
