  1. I advertised on the forum for someone to help with my fox and other vermin problem. I was inundated with replies and from those john_r and michaelswampy were nearby and able to help out. Both are very professional and came when they said they would, staying for ages to try and catch the fox and yesterday, in the middle of the day, john_r's patience paid off when the fox trotted into his line of fire. He then had to cope with my mother-in-law popping up in his sight. The fox then grabbed a nesting Guinea Fowl and made off. He managed to get a shot in and killed the fox leaving the Guinea Fowl alive. The fox still had feathers in it's mouth. Well done and thank you. Now for the rooks and rabbits !!! Becky
  2. Hi, Thanks so much for all your replies. I'll try and get back to you individually. I have someone coming to look around from the forum on wednesday but if this does not work out will move on to the next in line. Regards Becky
  3. Hi, I have approx 20 acres of land used for livestock production and have a rook and rabbit problem and two to three foxes threatening my youngstock. I have found a person from this site previously but they are not available at the moment due to domestic commitments so have a need for another responsible person to help us out. Many thanks Becky
  4. Hi, Mallet is coming around tomorrow. He was closest and has a .22 - I now have a fox problem. Lost two of my chicken today after it scaled a six foot fence. Yes I do exist and yes I asked for help last year and was let down. If I find that there is too much for mallet I'll be contacting you BSA-airgunner as the next nearest. Many thanks Becky
  5. Hi, Many thanks for all the responses. I'll go through to find someone nearby, hopefully they can pop out regularly then. You are right I did ask for help about a year ago and a guy responded. He came and had a look around but then work overtook him and he couldn't spare the time. He was quite a distance away. By that time the varmin had stopped breeding. I have cattle, sheep, pigs, chicken and kids, in that order. I used to shoot with my brother and then was 'promoted' to driving the 'bunny bagger' which was an old Morris Minor with a hole cut in the roof. My brother and his friends stood on the back seat and shot whilst I drove and jumped out every now and then to collect the spoil !! I still have a tendancy to drive AT bunnies on the road when I see them. Hubby shoots and has a shotgun and .22 rifle but does not have the time because of all the jobs he says I give him I had an opportunity to fire a Heckler and Koch MP5 rifle a short while ago and scored quite a respectable round - I think it woulds make a bit of a mess of the bunnies though Becky
  6. Hi, I have 20 acres in Mid-Sussex, south of Horsham and am overrun with rabbits, rooks, magpies and pigeons. I'd like to offer my land to shoot on to someone who could help me. I have livestock and a footpath that passes on edge of the boundary so would need a responsible, fully insured person. The pests seem wise to shotguns so I think a rifle would be beneficial. There may be an opportunity to extend the shooting area to neighbours land. Thanks in advance Becky
  7. Many thanks to all of you who replied, I have sent a PM to all of you. I was suprised at just how many many people are looking for places to shoot yet everywhere is alive with pigeons, rabbits, magpies and rats and shocked that any of you thought I might want YOU to pay me for helping me with MY problem. I was so impressed by how dedicated and professional you all are. Hope you all are lucky finding somewhere to shoot - I will certainly recommend this forum wherever I can. Becky
  8. Hi, I have 20 acres of land in West Sussex, near Horsham and am inundated with rabbits so I'm offering my land to anyone who needs somewhere to shoot. I have livestock and the wildlife is rich (Barn Owls etc). My neighbours are equally overun so there may be a possibility of extending the area in the future. Becky
