Chris Evans is to head up Top Gear - merged threads
yates replied to WinchesterDave's topic in Off Topic
I think Chris Evans is hugely talented and will be a success. He's like Clarkson in that you either like or loathe him. He became an arrogant sod for a while but came through it. Decent chap now -
Truly horrible.

We're staying in loch Don. I'm particularly interested in mackerel spots if possible

I agree that he should make a good living. My wife bought me an original painting of a black lab for my 50th earlier year by an artist called John Tricket that cost over £3,500. -
This wil be our third visit to Mull in as many years. I have flyfished lochTorr and Frisha, catching lots of wild brownies on dry fly(nothing above 5 inches though). I tried spinning in the sea and landed a couple of pollock and sea trout that were smaller than the spinner. Absolutely fantastic as you can watch the sea otters and sea eagles fishing at the same time. I was hoping that someone may know of some 'hotspot'.

Going on holiday to Mull shortly. Does anyone know if there is any good shore sea fishing. Any information would be greatly appreciated Tim

I was listening to blackies and thrushe's in my garden having a sing off last night. Truly spectacular, especially with the accompanying beer and snifter

Goodfellas all the way. I'd put Casino before Scarface

Not bad but check angling forums first as the fishing can be patchy. Press Manor is well worth a go but I'm not sure how far you will have to travel

What's the artists name? -
I have just realised that it's now four years since I sat in the hide. Due to changes in circumstance ie divorce, relocation and lack of time etc, opportunities have been severely limited. Things have now settled and there is light at the end of the tunnel. I'll be dusting the cobwebs off the Miruko shortly. Has anyone else experienced similar problems like this

Thanks for the replies. I have a Webber at home. But the chefs at work are moaning and requesting that I buy a gas barbie for a couple of events that we have planned

Following a debate at work. What is the best type of bbq. Charcoal or gas. We had quite a mixed response. The split was almost 50/50. What is your preferred method and why?

I love fishing but must disagree that more people for going fishing. Many fisheries around me report that angler numbers decline year on year. I don't notice many youngsters taking up the sport. I personally haven't seen any antis in action but friends have suffered abuse from non anglers in the past.

Shootingegg makes some valid points. Get an agent to manage the lease for you. They will deal with any problems that may arise and you won't end up getting called out in the middle of the night if need be. Just make sure that you vet the tennants as I've had a couple of nightmare families that have cost me time and money due to their slovenly lifestyles

Can't wait to see the manifesto on benefits and immigration

Voted. Quite strange really as I didn't particularly want to vote for anyone but I believe not to vote is fundamentally wrong.

Spunking up has a slightly different meaning in my neck of the woods

Is shooting and gun ownership the most important issue in your agenda?
yates replied to Psyxologos's topic in Off Topic
Shooting is not an important election issue to me at all. It's just a hobby to most but I can understand it being an important consideration for those who are reliant on it for their livelihoods -
Probably the best meals for me were the fantastic curries, rice and breads we had when touring India a couple of years ago. Also the super strength Kingfisher beers over there. Mind you it was lucky that I didn't see the state of the kitchens before eating on a couple of occasions

Just another day for me too

Is it possible to jet wash if you have poor water flow
-
I don't believe so. The downturn in sales is due to repetitiveness of the subject matter. A lot of stuff is recycled year after year. Plus there are far less people participating in shooting and fishing these days.
