I had chance to buy this Dayatate Huntsman mk1 pup for just £200 but it was horrible to shoulder and grip!!, Years later I was told that it was a factory bullpup and only one of 20 so it was quite rare! 🤨 There was a cheekpiece made of hard covered foam on the other side that stopped the cheek from getting cold, Someone said this wasn't original and that it should have been steel! Hi You may find that the movement has actually moved/rotated, They're usually held in place by four brackets and woodscrews, A knock can move it so it becomes out of beat, When you try to get it going you get more 'Tick' than 'Tock'!, It means the pendulum is swinging more to one side than the other and the shorter stroke can't get enough push from the pallet and it stops, If it's not too much out it will run but not keep time! When we moved house I hired a van and we did our own move, My mantle clock that I repaired (Wouldn't run originally) wouldn't run when I sited it at the new house so it was put away for a few years, Eventually the wife told me she dropped it in the van, This is what caused mine to stop!! 👍

I was told about that but got mixed up with this incident on facebook!, This incident with the rubber bullet had only happened an hour previous and I was told a day or two before that someone had been shot dead for showing off an air rifle in public, It seemed very strange!! john 👍

I would give the top edges of the dovetail on the barrel a tap down whilst the sight is removed, This will make it tighter when you tap the sight back in 👍 John 🙂

Hi I've a couple of Mod52's, They're brilliant rifles but the weak link seems to be the cocking link (rod) i've seen a couple with them broken! John 👍

Hi I'd go for a BSA Standard, The top two of these are Standards, Third down is a 1906 BSA Air Rifle, Bottom one is I think a Model D The Standard shoots with more power due to the larger size.. A comparison between The Standard and the 1906 guns cylinders.. There's also older Webley rifles like the little mk1 and the Service mk2 rifles, The mk3 are also very nicely made.. The mk3 is my fave Webbo, The top one is a very early first series with the two stage trigger 👍 The old Original model 50's are very nice to shoot too, The three ball sear trigger is fab to use 😉 I refurbished the stock on this one as it was a bit nasty! Also, The Mod50 type 01 is nice if a bit bigger than it's predecessor These are a bit harder to find though.. Another nice gun to shoot is the early Airsporters (Mk1 and 2) with their auto opening loading taps! Don't be tempted in to buying Jackal pseudo mil guns as they're really loud and vibrate terribley with the plazzie stocks! The timpber stocked ones seem fine though! I've an old tap loading Stuttie, I stripped it down to get it reblued, Still in bits years later but i'll have time to get it done soon as i've had enough of working in a heavy foundry (42 years) and am getting made redundant!! ☺️🙂 John 👍 I also have a Gamo Stutzen, Complete and utter junk compared to the Beesa product!.. WOW!! Some beautiful sticks!! I bought some stuff to have a go years ago, Never got around to it (Not even sure if I could make them as they look difficult to get right!!) I bought a load of Antler, Ramshorn and buffalo horn!!, Around five years ago I reduced my Hazel hedge down to around six feet from about thirteen and saved some nice straight-ish lengths, Tuesday this week I lopped some fairly straight holly down too! Wish i'd have read this thread at the beginning of furlough!! John 👍

Fabulous!! 😍😍 I have a nice blue dyed and stabilised burr Maple block for a hidden tang knife, Had it and the blade for years but never got around to marrying the two together!! At top left and the blade is the third down on the right hand three, It was made by Søren P. Stormgaard.. John 👍

I have a 1965 Navitimer with a Venus 178 manual wind movement 👍 @Lord v Some beauties there mate, I've an Invicta divewatch with the NH35 auto movement inside, It's a cracking comfy watch!! Seiko is my fave brand though as they make so many different types of watches that are very reliable! I'm liking the Buluva UHF with the continuous sweep second hands too, I've an Accutron from 1972 but it needs a service and calibration for modern 1.5v cells! John 👍

Hi I'll drag this old thrtead up rather than start another! I've collected watches for 45 years, I used to repair them too as a hobby until my fingers became arthritic and I was dropping tools in to the movements! 😬 I seem to have bought more in the last six months than normal, This lockdown is making my wallet very skinny!! 🙄 Latest buy was this Seiko 007, It had a problem when new in that the stem/crown didn't align correctly with the threaded tube so was recased under warranty, The seller included the old case and all the paperwork in the package!! This Valjoux 7750 auto ppowered Victorinox was for sale on Facey just around the corner from me but the seller was in Aussie land so had to do the sale with the person he left it with, The lad at the house left it on the doorstep and went back in whilst I looked at it, Decided I wanted it and I posted the money through the letterbox!! I've had five different straps on it since I bought it around six weeks ago!, Size comparison with a 6139-6002 Seiko Chrono.. Orient Mako 2 that I got from fleabay, This is losing five mins per month and needs regulating! AVI-8 Qtz chrono.. Sturmanskie Qtz chrono.. Promaster auto dive watch.. Dan Henry 1963 chrono (Qtz) Dan Henry 1968 Dragster 60 second chrono, They were produced for timing the drag races that were less than a minute in duration so a 60 stopwatch was enough!! Through the last 45 years, I've collected over 2,000 watches but more than half are non runners that I used to scavenge parts from!! John 🙂

There were two soaring above my house really high, Looked like they were going to bump in to a aeroplane that passed!(There are still a few up there!!) Had my camera on the highest (60x) zoom and still had to crop the pic!!, I had a job keeping one in the fov!! It's a rubbish pic but the best I could get, They were really shifting!! John 🙂

A friend of mine had amassed something like 14 of these including a wooden stocked prototype, He sold the lot in bulk to one buyer for (I think) £7,000!! This was a few years ago!!

I cancelled my membership with them as soon as I was notified, I only went on there to buy guns!! There's loads of people doing the same on the hunting forums and Facey!! John 😡

It is stacked leather, They clamped tightly to compress it when the glue is applied, They were known as Scout knives in the 20th century and most Sheffield cutlery firms made them! Here's mine, It's a Rodger product and was made in George's reign, I think Geore 6th, 1936-1952.. The buyer got an excellent knife cheaply- Well done!! 👍

I bought this Wooly Mammoth molar to cut up for knife scales but when it came to getting the radiac out, I couldn't bring myself to (possibly) destroy something older than me granny!! When i've seen knives with mammoth tooth scales, I'm always amazed at the beauty of them!! John 🙂

I've a few lathes but all are small ones, Granville, Myford, Faircut etc, I have the Faircut set up at the moment, It has so much wear that parallel turning would involve adjusting the tailstock acrosswise!! 😞 I really should take the time to set one of the better machines up!! The old Faircut is so old it runs on flat belts!! Anyone know what Hendersons Relish is?, Anyhow, They made this machine here in Sheffield before they went in to selling Relish for your stew!! 😀 A little Wade, The next three are pretty crappy hobby lathes that are a bit dangerous as the it has right hand threads on the lead screw, Cross slide and top slide, In a moment of non thinking you could back the tool off and inadvertantly push it in to the workpiece causing all kinds of problems!! 😨 Flexispeed 7, A tiny li'l thing that you can hold in one hand, Probably good for making clock gear shafts!! An even smaller 'Super Adept'!! Modern day Unimat, Extruded ally and not the fine old Cast iron ones!, This can be put together in to different forms to make it a lathe or a mill or a bench drill, I think there's five or six machines it can be made in to!! I've never put it together, Can't be bothered!! John 🙂

Has anyone else seen nickel plated Meteors? I've a mk1 (N prefix so .177") It appears to have been nickel plated for a heck of a long time as there's much wear off on the barrel, It shoots great for such an old gun too! John 🙂

I've the same box that my Crosman 147 came in 👍 I bought a new Sharp Ace and a Gamo Stutzen, Can't recall boxes coming with either of them!, The gamo was pre VCR bill and I bought it online from JSR but I can only recall a plain cardboard box holding it!! John 🙂

I've a set of these 8x30 Jena too, I'll never get rid though- They are so good!! 👍
