  1. Another great vid, brilliant long retrieve on the Shoveller, you must have been very pleased. Never a waste of time going out even if you blank,so much to see and hear, and the dogs love it.Thanks for posting.
  2. Another great adventure. Good to welcome another season. The dogs look to have had a great flight as well as you. Still waiting for my first outing.wpWeather has been like mid summer. Thanks again for posting great vids.
  3. NRW have put out a public consultation for a review of the general license in Wales. I think that anyone that shoots in Wales should make an attempt to reply to this consultation. It is a bit strung out and needs to be read carefully.I fear that if there is a poor response they will just go ahead and bring in the new restrictions. Just as an example they want to remove the Magpie from general license because of the decrease in numbers, this along with several other recommendations. Some of the proposals are common sense and would not be restrictive, but with NRW being government run and with the Welsh government being heavily against shooting we have a battle on our hands.
  4. The shooting community in Wales have a battle on their hands when dealing with any department of the Welsh government. From NRW,the minister Leslie Griffith's and the majority of the government would love to see all shooting stopped in the Principality, driven, wildfowling, any form of vermin control, crop protection etc etc. Drakeford and his team of far left wing reformers will make life more and more uncomfortable for us to pursue our way of life. Every certificate holder in Wales should contact their SMs ,MPs and the ministers in charge of the department's telling them what you think of their unfair and perhaps illegal treatment of the shooting industry. Don't hold out much hope of a joined up reply.
  5. A big congratulations to all the organisations who contributed to this debate. The usual rubbish from the hateful trio in replying to this overwhelming bashing given to them. Well done.
  6. Thanks for the advice.
  7. Yes thanks for replying, thought of putting the seat down to allow for more room, but was hoping that someone had the name of a box that fitted without putting the seats down.I may use one of the strong boot covers.
  8. Has anyone fitted a dog box in a Suzuki Vitara, and what type ?.Just asking.
  9. You prey for weather like the last few days, when the weather god's shine on the wildfowler. Fowl on the foreshore and perfect conditions to make a bag . I must admit it got to a point when the thumb was so cold I had trouble getting the safety off. The dog was a bit chilly too. Pintail, teal, wigeon and mallard in numbers.Mild weather on the way and the end of the season in sight, had to make the most of it.
  10. I've used steel all season, when allowed to shoot.Had no problems with it , mostly Ely bio wad. Have been using steel since wildfowling became non toxic ,what seems to be a lifetime now,but it has improved 10:fold since then.
  11. Another cracking adventure.Pleased for you being able to get out.Wildfowling in Wales can still go ahead but you must be able to walk and not drive to the marsh. Always look forward to your videos.Good shooting and all the dogs had a busy morning.Looking forward to some more .
  12. Let's hope NRW will except that the countryside needs workable general licences, and not be driven by the anti shooting Welsh Government.
  13. S.Wales and Dyffyd Powis police have this week raided two properties and released 80 dogs, all stolen. Some have already been reunited with the owners. What will the courts do,slap them on the wrists and a poor fine.Released to do it all again.
  14. As long as they keep losing I don't care how deep their pockets are.
  15. Let's hope that the cost of their legal team plus the ten thousand will come to a tidy amount. If it was coming out of the terrible trio's pockets they would think twice about bringing these attacks on the shooting and conservation bodies. They will still carry on conning their followers into forking out their hard earned cash ,that's the third case they have lost now, must be getting expensive.
  16. Rooks can be controlled in Wales, but an application must be made to NRW ,with due evidence for the need for licence. It is far from an easy process ,having applied last year for controling crows predating lapwing hatchlings on a SSI. Wanting photographic evidence, map references, and reason for wanting the licence, was told it could take six weeks for the grant. Goodbye Lapwings. I was told to apply early this year, how do you get the evidence without seeing the act taking place?
  17. I use my No 3 may for the majority of my wildfowling now,I still have the auto but I love using the S/Side.Just feels nice. Choked improved and quarter,I find no difficulty using steel .
  18. Will NRW be claiming costs against WJ. I do hope they are ,as it's public money that's involved. I know BASC has thrown a huge amount at this case and must be applauded for doing so,for I fear if WJ had been successful it would have paved the way for other attacks on the Scottish and English licences. Well done BASC. and their legal team.
  19. We in Wales lost Rooks and collared doves in 2019,after the first intervention by WJ. The 2021 licence have yet to be officially approved as once again the wonderful trio have caused a judicial review to be heard.Calling NRWs general licence was illegal. This was heard on the 23rd of Dec,and the outcome will be known in a week or so, or when the judge decides to let every.one know. The outcome could have ramifications for future licences for both England and Scotland. I do hope WJ lose their case and the judge awards costs against them.
  20. NRW removed rooms and collared doves have been off the general licence since 2019. They were removed after WJ challenged NRW 's licence the same time as the English general licence was challenged. The difference between England and Wales is DEFRA is now issuing the general licence in England but in Wales we are governed by the useless NRW which is Welsh government funded, and the whole of the Labour run government is totally anti shooting. The 2021 licences have still not been officially issued due to a legal review brought again by Wild Justice. More money going to the wonderful Leigh Day.
  21. There is a very interesting article in sporting shooter, they are interviewing a shooter from Denmark who shoots nothing but steel including through Damascus barreled guns. May be of interest to you.
  22. Once you have been bitten by the wildfowling bug ,you will never want for anything else. It's the best way I can think of welcoming the day and saying goodnight at the end.Sights and sounds to stir the sole, and if your very lucky a nice feed as well.
  23. I have used both eco cartridges the 2 3/4 and now the 2 1/2 and found both perfectly capable of dealing with the type of shooting I do,small driven days ,wildfowling ,and pigeon, crows etc and a I am very pleased to know that there is now a steel cartridge for sale that will allow me to continue using my older s/ sides. I have found that the only place I have been able to get them along with other eco cartridges is Just Cartridges. I am sure you won't be disappointed ,provided you remember the capabilities of the cartridge.
