  1. The self publicist that he is would love to think people were going to the trouble to start a petition to have him sacked from somewhere he doesn't even work , he's a freelancer.Best thing is to ignore the annoying little sod and give him no recognition at all.
  2. Last year I applied to the very inept NRW for a licence to shoot crows near an SSI which were decimating Lapwing nests and fledglings. The licence required evidence of the damage, photos etc etc .I was then told it could be six weeks before the licence would or would not be granted.Result no lapwings .At least the English licences have been taken in house by DEFRA and out of the hands on Natural England.Dont knock it,at least you have a general licence for 2021 to work with. I am dreading the judicial review of the Welsh licences in December.Another payday for WildJustice solicitor's.
  3. Never been asked in all the years I have renewed SGC.
  4. Great way to spend a few hours.Good shooting ,and dog work, you would have a job finding those birds without a dog.,and what better way to end the day than a tray full of lovely sausage rolls.I do the same with Canada geese and we a bit of spiced sausage meat(I say I but truth be known it's my better half that concocts.)
  5. Can't fault you, getting quite excited .It feels like the start of the season.Getting the gear ready again. Some nice seasonal weather now.
  6. Certainly are lucky, the principality had a complete shutdown of shooting except pest control.Straining at the leash to get back on the marsh after the 9th.
  7. Wales has been in lockdown for a week and wildfowling has stopped as you can exercise as much as you want but you cannot take equipment, and a gun is classed as equipment, and advised not to drive to get to your exercise area.Probably be different in England.
  8. How things used to be,lovely watching it,that snow looked a bit nasty, only had the waxproof then, not sure when gortex made an appearance.
  9. Thats the way spread it about, don't stay local.
  10. The way Drakeford is talking the restrictions on travelling from England to Wales will still be in place on the 9th.The local police forces are quite strict on this and are stopping vehicles for civic travel checks.
  11. Apparently the official dates for wearing poppies is 31st Oct to 11th November.A friend of who is in the army told me.
  12. I do feel for you, dealing with government offices is a nightmare, you fill in one form and another suddenly appears, the country will sink under a paper mountain. The majority of people against our way of life wouldn't now a partridge from a budgie or a sycamore from an ash. This is why the various organisations must get ou there and bang the drum in the press. One man who does rattle cages is Robin Page ,he is about everything in the countryside, perhaps not big shoots but certainly the smaller enterprises like yours and many many more around the country.
  13. Wild Justice have done a good job on us by grabbing headlines in the press.Packham is expert at doing this as he has access to the press.Reading the news sheets you would think they have had all games shooting stopped. This is where the organisations fall down, they must get our side of the argument into the mainline press not just local publications. Sorry about posting three times ,fat fingers.
  14. I think that if a shoot has a negative impact on surrounding ground there will not be a problem, huge amounts of bird release is the problem when many many thousands of birds are released within a small area.If shoots abided by the guide to good shooting there will not be a problem. Wild justice and the horrible three are treating this as a huge victory but the have achieved very little other than causing another level of bureaucracy. I know there are many people on here that cannot see any good being done by the organisations, but without them we will be unable to fight our corner. We need to talk as one and defeat these bullies.
  15. The radio 4 farming today has been running all week with both sides of the argument being given a fair crack of the whip to be fair.Avery is very good at filling the airwaves with his chat,of facts half truths and just lies.He didn't do too well this morning on the Today programme with Tim Bonner from the Countryside Alliance.
  16. W.J will always big this up as a huge victory.Yes they have had a small victory but reading DEFRA's response there is much work to be done.Their followers are all singing the praises of the mighty three.Shoots that are releasing as per good practice have little to fear.Do not let these bullies get the better of us.I for one will not be defeated by them or the kind of people that are taken in by their bile.
  17. I don't think there were many had a game licence,I bought one once, only because I had been invited to a day's shooting,a friend of mine asked the girl at the p.office for a game licence and she gave a bit of a blank look and asked what type of game he wanted it for. So many things have changed, but there must be a future for us,we can't let people who are anti everything to stop us.The countryside and the wildlife will be the poorer for the loss.
  18. Drake Gadwall is one of the most handsome of birds along with the Drake Pintail. The hen Gadwall must have taken a fancy to that handsome Drake mallard.Nice shooting.
  19. Well done ,I do hope the restrictions remain sensible and you are able to continue your adventures.,wildfowlers are not renowned for being sociable, and it is so easy to self distance when out on a pheasant day. Thanks again for your videos.
  20. Yet another brilliant video.Pity about not getting the geese on film, but nevertheless it is always a pleasure to watch you and the dogs having such a good time. Are you being effected by lockdown.
  21. They haven't stopped you fishing as long as you walk to the venue,no driving ,you must walk. They like you to exercise.,I am classing wildfowling as exercise.I may be on my own.
  22. I have been advised that providing you can walk to the marsh without transport it counts as my daily exercise.I can walk to the marsh so I feel that I will give it a go.Early morning or evening.
  23. Thanks for the good luck wishes.I am ever hopeful and won't let the so and SO's grind us down(can't believe I never swore)I am lucky that I have my wildfowling and you can't be more self isolating. The feeling in the Principality at the moment is they have crossed the line, and although nobody wants to see this horrible virus take over a common sense approach should be taken. Think positive.
  24. The same all over Wales, big shoots ,small shoots, all on hold until the 9th Nov.Then what????? The pheasants still need to be looked after, shooting or not you can't just walk away, and it all costs money.I am sure we will come through this ,and with a little bit of luck have some shooting, beating and picking up before the end of the season. The problem in Wales is that the idiots running the assembly are far far left labour so could easily stop shooting just to prove a point, they are anti at the best of times.
