  1. Nothing wrong with Canada goose.Take the breasts off and cook slowly. Also make slices in the breast and pack with seasoned sausage meat.As good as it gets.
  2. Yet another great video.I wouldn't worry about missing a few now and again as your successes far outnumber your misses.Lovely when a dog picks up the scent on the water, always amazes me. The sausage rolls look delicious,I invested in a mincer, best thing. We do geese, and ducks through it.Perfect for lasagna and chillies and spag bol.I should say this with the royal WE as it's my better half that turns it all into various dishes.
  3. Perfect example of the RSPB getting it all wrong and getting many hundreds of thousands of pounds of grants and Welsh government money take a look at the Lake Vyrnwy reserve. One failure after another.
  4. Being driven by the likes of the terrible three.I believe Packham is a vice president.
  5. The RSPB are being driven by certain members who want nothing less than the end of driven bird shooting in all its forms. The shooting organisations must unite and fight this attack which is the thin end of the wedge. Time to remove the Royal patronage.
  6. How I wish the Welsh government would have the same enlightened rules.
  7. Well done BASC.The education of people who know very little about our way of life can only be a good thing.Keep it up.
  8. Another great adventure.Good shooting ,very good dog work and excellent camera production. Its a pleasure to watch you expeditions. With our local lockdowns it looks like some of us will have to live our season through watching others success.
  9. Good post,I use hp 36grm 4s in my AYA may.with no problem.
  10. Thanks to all, a friend has just contacted me with a homemade one he uses so may give that a go.Thanks Westley 78 for the kind offer,so leave the field open for oscardad. Thanks again ,will let you know how it goes.Getting to old for floundering about looking for the empties.
  11. Just a thought ,but has anyone used a cartridge catcher on a semi auto.It is a real pain looking for ejected cartridges, especially in the dark or on the marsh. My old lab used to retrieve them but my new companion just hates picking up spent cartridges.
  12. Unfortunately you are spot on with your discription of the wonderful Welsh government who given their way would ban all shooting sports .You cannot have opinions which hey do not approve of and unfortunately NRW are of the same thought's
  13. I do wish that there was some guidance from the devolved governments. They all seem to be dragging their feet,or do we go out regardless and use our own common sense?
  14. Another great video, good to see your season has got off to a grand start.Ted seems to have lost non of his ability during the summer and what a retrieve. Have a good season ,looking forward to more of your adventures.Still like mid summer with us at the moment ,although some of the visitors are beginning to arrive.
  15. Wildfowling ,all the species on the list.Just the thrill of seeing a bunch of teal heading your way and trying to be invisible to them,or the call of geese in the half light hopefully heading to you.Just the magic of it all.
  16. They will stop at nothing to spread the lies and incorrect facts. The press will print any thing said by Packham truth or not they don't care. Our organisations must get on the front foot and refute their claims. If accusations like theirs were made against other any trade there would be hell to pay. Well done C4PMC.
  17. Lovely picture. If you had to rely on what you bag wildfowling to eat you would possibly starve,it's about those sunsets in the photo, the sun rises the sounds of the marsh and the images that you wished you had photographed but just sat there witnessing something remarkable. Usually just you and the dog.Wildfowling is a pastime that once it's in your blood it never leaves. Hope everyone has a good and safe season. We need to savour every minute.
  18. Hi S.Wales Shooter If you go on Wentloogs website contact numbers are available. The number of the secretary has not changed and is the same as on the website. You have missed this year's intake but I am sure if you are looking to go Wildfowling (best pastime of all) we can get you out as a guest a couple of times.Give Mat a ring.
  19. Don't knock them,at least they are having a go rather than sit back and throw negative remarks about.
  20. Well done BASC.Its nice you have begun to rattle the cages of the people who are after DGS,,Some people on this forum will criticise BASC never mind what they do.If driven grouse shooting goes say goodbye to the next in line, pheasant, wildfowling ,pigeon, crows you take your pick. Get the facts out there to the general public, the rags such as the Sun will never give the facts and won't allow the true facts be printed in there's or their sister rags.Packham and the rest of his pack of tellers of half truths must be beaten if we are to carry on with the pastimes we love. Wouldn't it be nice if the shooting community could all sing from the same hymn sheet and not stick divisions in what we do,as someone on here as already said ,there will always be people with enough money to do things that most of only aspire to,let's not deride them ,let's applaud that without the money there would be no grouse ,waders, ,raptors and the whole of the moorland infrastructure. I never have and probably never will shoot driven or walked up grouse,. but I dread the day when the Glorious Twelfth will cease to, be a celebrated date in the shooting calender, just as the First of September is so very special to me.
  21. BASC have replied to Liddles lies in a blog on their Twitter page.To get this argument printed in. Rag like the Sun would be impossible, unless you are Packham and company.
