  1. Oh dear! They are still up to their old tricks......... I waited over three months after paying for two packs of FUD decoys berore I received them. This was after threatening to report them to police for criminal deception. They are a bunch of chancers who should not be tolerated by this site or anyoe else. They should remember that this is a small country and may have to come face to face with their dissatisfied customers.
  2. Why are the site moderators so sensitive re. any posts concerning Decoying UK?
  3. Would that be classed as vermin or pest control?
  4. Yeah, I've now read a lot of the bad info. that Decoying UK has attracted. I have purchased from them previously some time ago. If I don't get some action tomorrow when I phone them (yet again) I will institute appropriate action. With all their previous and recent activity criminal deception seems like a strong possibility never mind trading standards!
  5. I am having problems with an order from Decoying UK having paid for goods on the 22nd Sept 2010 and still not received them. I've just read the numerous posts re. this company and find that the topic is now blocked. Why?
  6. I recently purchased the Mossberg .410 which only has the moderated barrel fitted. I was informed by my firearms dealer that 'York Guns' could supply several types of ordinary barrel if wanted. Sorry, don't know their contact no. but they may be worth a try if you find their tel no.
  7. Mean't to type 'quarry' and not 'quary' as big holes in the earth are not very much aware of anything!
  8. I'm a novice pigeon shooter also but when hide building I consider some basic rules about camo and concealement which I was taught years ago on a training course. The 'things' that can betray your presence to another human being are ( as I remember) shape, colour, silouhette (spelling!), movement, shine, noise and animals ( dogs, cows, sheep etc). I always bear them in mind when camming up! Depends how aware the quary is also and how distracted it is by other things e'g' crops! As for loads I'm using No 6's. with 30g in the 12 gauge and 26 in the 20. The birds I hit with the 20 re just as dead as the one's I hit with the 12. Convesley, the ones I miss with either ****** off just as fast!
  9. Been watching the posts for a few weeks now and eventually found a question I could answer because I've been selecting bottom barrel first all day with one dot showing and two dots covered as answered by 'lambhat'. Always safer to find out first before trying if you are not sure. I think that bottom barrel first is the norm and it is usually fitted with the more 'open' choke. e.g. 1/4 in the bottom, 1/2 in the top. I stand open to correction by the more well informed of course.
  10. Just received my shotgun cert last week from Northumbria Police. Three weeks from submitting application. FLO was very efficient. Really good service. No complaints, only compliments!
  11. Just returned from a trip to Aberdeen and picked up your kind invite. Much appreciated. I'm expecting to receive my cert. in the post any day now and will then pick up a shotgun. To date I've only shot rabbits with a .22 weirauch 100 air rifle up to 40 yds. but have used shotguns and rifles up to 7.62 calibre for other reasons e.g. disposed of two bulls on two separate occassions, legally using 180 grain 7.62 (interesting!). What sort of range would you reasonably expect to cleanly shoot rabbits with a 12g using a no. 6 or other suitable cartridge? (That's assuming the shooter is competent of course). Thanks again for the reply.
  12. Thanks for all your resposes and welcomes. I'm still pondering what to get but it sure is an immense but fascinating subject. I'll keep watching the forum from up here in the North East which is unusually sunny today. Just a thought, when crop fields have just been cut do pigeons feed on the stubble? Thanks again
  13. I've just completed four 12 hr nights followed by 34 hrs of days. Start night again tomorrow ...............but? I count up the extra paid hours in shooting kit................it makes all the difference! Keep on in!
  14. Thanks for confirming the 28 " barrells. Appreciate your input, I'll sleep on it!
