  1. I'm North of Liverpool and not that far from Chorley - I've got an AirWolf which is quite good with rabbits - if you need someone to shoot with just send a PM. Cheers
  2. I've always found that whatever you shoot with, the quarry is usually just as dead (if you're lucky) - anyway I must just pop out to polish the purdey.
  3. I have no hesitation in recommending the Aya - a No. 4 preferably but the Yeoman is a good basic well made gun for a reasonable price.
  4. Would you consider Liverpool to be local? If so I would be interested.
  5. "Both were used and the dealer would not negotiate AT ALL on the marked prices so I didnt bother." Why are some RFDs unwilling to negotiate? Over the last few years I've bought a few guns and have found that one dealer wasn't prepared to negotiate (shame as he was the closest) whilst other's were, obviously the latter got the business and they still get my business.
  6. Cats should be on the general licence with rats, ferals etc. Always crapping on my lawn and peeing on my conservatory roof (they like it up there when its sunny) - hate the things.
  7. If you are concerned about straight kills then try the Bisley Magnums, they hit real hard and increase your instant kill rate. :look:
  8. I would seriously consider the S200 from air arms - could get a brand new one, with silencer, decent scope, refill kit and pellets for that kind of money (haggle a bit). These rifles are accurate, light and tough - perfect starter guns. :look:
  9. 8 weeks here (Merseyside) - did expect it to be quicker though. :look:
  10. Get that application in now :look:
  11. "without a doubt the most challenging is wing shooting snipe with a .22 rimfire . Harnser ." I like to think that I am a pretty good shot (pigeons, bunnies, rats, duck, geese, snipe, partridge blah blah) but you must be one fantastic son of a gun to hit a snipe with a .22 rimmy, either that you are taking the michael (I've cleaned that up a bit) or have you got the worlds first fully automatic rimfire? :look:
  12. This is an entertaining thread - anyone who makes an application for a shotgun certificate to a police force and doesn't put on their convictions (however old) is either 1) Not very bright or 2) trying to have one over on the police (either way the police will take a dim view). Dates of convictions are not required (the police can sort that) but all must be declared - there is an argument that if you have so many that you forget one or two then the SGC will be refused (not fit and proper) but obviously people do change over time and as long as they can possess a shotgun without posing a threat or danger then happy days. :look:
