  1. Anyone know where 2023s game fair will be or is it always going to be Ragley?
  2. No waste of time and money. After last years pathetic effort it's certainly not worth travelling far to go to. Its mostly shops and nothing there you can't buy on line I'm afraid. Shame as these shows used to be so good. The best stands pulled out as they were charging too much. Sorry its a big no.
  3. That was the worst Game Fair I've ever been to. Not worth the travel and expense. Hardly any big names and full of cheap rubbish. The fishing was a disgrace. Five stalls of absolute rubbish. I really don't see a future in these shows now and it's a shame. They used to be brilliant. Don't bother going, you'll come away disappointed. Sad state of affairs.
  4. Good points made. Really, the layout was shocking. I went to the Scottish game fair at Scone. Smaller but much much better with more armosphere. I only hope next years is an improvement.
  5. Personally I thought the game fair very poor compared to previous years. The venue and layout didn't compare to Ragley, Belvoir or Harewood etc. The big names were not there. Plenty of guns but the fishing village wasn't worth the effort. Very few toilets when you needed one and a host of other disappointments. Not worth travelling a long distance to go to. That's my veiw.
  6. Is it illegal to leave an air rifle overnight or for any amount of time in your vehicle?
  7. I retire soon at 52 on a good pension and have dearly paid for it over many years. I have no intension of wasting any more time of my life working again. Bring on the many great days shooting and fishing so I can leave this earth happy and content.
  8. Helping the farmer out by preventing his crops being eaten. Should be free then. Nice one.
  9. I use 1/4 / 1/4 in my 20G. 28g No6 for 95% of the time. Perfect, no problem what so ever.
  10. I agree, struggle to see why it cost £35 to get in. Overall I enjoyed it very much. The show was not a big as pervious and some famous names were just not there. Seen everything by 3pm and away home.
  11. I have been informed that Mike Barton The Chief Constable wants Durham to be the toughest licencing authority in the country. After the Horden shootings and his officers caught selling guns he has to show he is clamping down hard. If you have no reason to own, are unfit or be aquainted to undesirable persons you probably won't get a licence. I personally would just go along with their demands to ensure you get a licence, then you can get out and enjoy your shooting. Its a case of put up and shut up.
  12. Some fantastic advice there lads, many thanks for your advice and effort.
  13. Simply stunning. Great photo.
  14. I'm thinking of buying some new binoculars 10 x 42's, but can not decide which make to go for. I have been told Zeiss and Swarovski lenses are made in the same factory but I'm not sure of this. WHAT WOULD YOU BUY AND WHY?
  15. I remember in the army, camo was defined as shape, sound, silhouette, surface, spacing and movement. The best camo is the natural vegetation that is around you. I once stalked three roes and got right up to them wearing a bright red berghaus jacket. I'm sure colour is not important but certainly movement is.
