  1. :*) :*) :*) ...gosh...I guess you have to be a weightlifter to appreciate it. No offense taken...slightly embarrassed though :(
  2. I haven't posted her ein a very loong time. This is not hunting related but I am sure you'll be amazed. For those of you who are weightlifters, this guy is playing with over 400 pounds and then ups the weight. He's a mini-battleship! I seem to have put my user name in the title for this post...no it's not me doing the lifting...my knees hurt just watching that! Wow
  3. Jack Rabbits are considered a huge pest problem in parts of the United States. (The same as praire dogs). It is perfectly legal and I happen to know one of the hunters in the video clip which is from his DVD. He posts regularly on another forum dedicated to Varmint Hunting. He is an incredible shot, many of the shots on those videos are taken at some incredible ranges...a few over 400 yards. I've seen him shoot accurately offhand at over 250 yards at those jacks. He reloads all of his own ammuniton and shoots custom as well as factory made rifles with top shelf scopes. Most Varmint Hunters shoot 22 centerfire ammunition (22-250, 220, 22BR) using hollowpoint or v-max type bullets to get that explosive expansion which causes that spectacular terminal effect. I happen to know that one of his favorite calibers is a 6mm-284, a very popular round for benchrest shooters. If you got to www.huntingfootage.com there is a video clip of a hunter (from Europe, killing a moose calf that has been chased down with a dog. The dog causes the calf to be confused and unaware of the hunter. He successfully shoots and kills the calf. That type of hunting is illegal in my country, initially it sickened myself and others on that site. but, it was pointed out by the Web Master that it is a perfectly legal form of hunting in that country and should be treated as such. Jack Rabbits, praire dogs and ground squirrels (not to mention crows, PIGEONS and starlings) are a huge nuisance both financially and for health reasons to ranchers and farmers across the US. Farmers and Ranchers enthusiastically welcome varmint hunters to eliminate these pests so that they don't have to use poison(s), which will keep killing even after the targeted animal is dead. Predatory birds (Bald Eagles, redtailed hawk, etc..) and scavengers will eat the dead, poisoned animal and in turn become too ill to fend for itself and/or die. Poison does not discriminate in what it kills. I happen to own a copy of that DVD. I have shot rabbits as pests in the summer time and while you can eat summer season rabbits, they are so full of worms it looks like your eating rabbits with spaghetti. But, I was doing a favor for the rancher who had planted 45 acres of pole beans. He knew I was a very safe and accurate shot . If I had said "no!" I would have definitely fallen out of favor with him and I am very conscientious of 40 head of cattle meandering around the fenced in pole beans trying to find a way in. Hmmm...no personal attack here Now...back to playing my banjo...
  4. Sorry to take so long to get back. Both of those were right at 75 yards. I try to never shoot at under 50 yards with my magnum
  5. Crowblaster

    Link..

Found this whilst surfing...neat website for airgun hunting...Airgun Hunting
  6. Great enthusiasm your dog has...very nice video.
  7. A picture of me and my 1022 magnum, that's my old Mitsubishi Pickup Truck which finally died after 354,000 miles...they just don't make em like they used to!
  8. Tobster...your post comes across as condescending. It seems as if you enjoy stirring things up is all. We refer to people such as you as Trolls. Your reference to detention and picking up litter is your attempt to add more fuel to the fire. I haven't been a member here nearly as long as you but I have posted six times as much. I guess that makes you the inexperienced one and maybe you should grow up . TX Sniper...that was a excellant post...judging by your total number of posts, making you more experienced at this, maybe Tobster should listen to you . Lets ignore him..he's only getting a rise out of this anyway...
  9. Your banana toting crook must be related to this guy....
  10. A well placed arrow can kill very quickly..keyword being "WELL placed" Here in my state (Florida), you can use a rifle to shoot turkeys. During general gun season, when the fall turkey season coincides with it, you can use any firearm to shoot one. During Spring turkey season in many management areas you can use a shotgun or rimfire rifle.
  11. Did u use an electronic caller too? Or just the decoys? Love shooting them crows!
  12. You guys crack me up!! You know, I use a computer at the public library...that brought quite a few stares when I brought it up on the screen...yeesh
