  2. I'm selling a year old Yukon photon xt 6.5x50 . I'd like to sell it as a kit with the doubler, leapers weave rail QR mounts and t38 illuminater and mount with AS pill if possible. £400 collected or can post but il only post special delivery or signed for which would be at extra cost. I've just bought the drone pro 10x for the fox outfit so I'm putting the pulsar lrf 870 on the hmr hence the reason for sale. If your local your welcome to try before you buy. This is one of the original photons that has the thread ready for a doubler, I'm sure the latest batch come with a special "stop" fitted to prevent doublets being used. I'm just off scotch corner. Pictures to be added shortly ...
  3. Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone has any details / contacts for any shooting ranges in the north east and North Yorkshire areas to allow me to zero and load test with centerfire rifles. 100 yard is fine, don't need any more. Not normally a problem but I need to play about with some new loads. I'm just struggling to get laid flat at minute in most areas with the crops and grass up. I was on one field today and the bullocks wouldn't allow me to zero so drove to another area where the silage was cut to find they were spinning the grass so not a very productive day. Any info appreciated. Thanks.
  4. I had a brno mk2 which I cut from 22" to 12" as a truck gun. I had that rifle about 5 years. Had an 11 degree match crown cut on it and it performed brilliantly. A little more noise and kick ( ever so slightly ) and accuracy wise it was able to headshot rabbits to 100 yards easily enough. It had a bit more drop but nothing drastic. I do miss it, to be honest. The 16" barrel I currently have is manageable but the 12" barrel was brilliant for driving and shooting from the truck. My general advise to anyone considering getting a .22 or barrel chopped is to get it done. The benefits are enormous for anyone that does a lot of driving.
  5. Wildcat predator 8 sound moderator which has just been fitted with a BRAND NEW .243 baffle stack 3 months ago ,and the baffle has only had around 100 shots fired through it..... Externally there a couple of very small cabinet marks but that's all. Threaded 1/2" unf. Comes with spare rear bush. £125 FAC holders with relevant slot on cert only ,and face to face please. I'm close to scotch corner on A1.
  6. Without getting into ammo costs here's my opinion. To be honest a good fox shooter may shoot 200 foxes a year. The difference in cost between the .223 and .22-250 rounds would be negligible to be honest based on that amount. I have used a 223 with 40 grain v max for over 5 years now and regularly take foxes from 150-250 yards without issue. Put the round in the right place and the fox drops. It's also good for head shooting rabbits past rimfire distances and corvids etc as the rounds don't use much powder and cause as muchthroat erosion etc,and barrel life isn't as much an issue as it would be with a .22-250. Personally I'd look at a .243 if your considering more energy/ velocity as a .243 will handle bullets from around 55- 100 grain depending on the twist where as the .22-250 is much less versatile. The .243 is compatible to the .22-250 in terms of kick and noise and muzzle flash but can shoot faster and flatter with 50-55 grain rounds. I tend to use the .243 with 58/75 grain bullets when it's a bit windy or I'm planning on shooting from the truck roof but most of the time I always opt for the .223 as its much quieter and you always see your quarry drop. The 75s are used when I'm going stalking first before foxing as I find them great on roe and fox. Unless your shooting past 200 yards on a regular basis I'd go .223 If your shooting past that on a regular basis and considering a .22-250 I'd just go a step up and get the .243 instead. There's no rights or wrongs, it all boils down to personal preference and what your confident with. The .22-250 is a good round, no doubt about that. it hits harder than the .223 and shoots flatter....I just think that if a .223 isn't enough then a .243 has much more to offer over a .22-250.

  10. The console is approx. 5" wide and comes from the front about a foot back and contains 2 sunglasses holders and a card holder. The clutch on the t bar would just to stay fit on the console if I drilled precisely and cut the back of the console out.... but if not id have to drill it on the edge which would be a little bit further back than id like but still manageable. The console is held on by the roof strengthener which appears to already have have 50mm recesses in it ( same size as hole needed ) but if im not spot on...................... Also the bushes sit flush but as the roof bar is recessed how will this effect the distance for the clamps between the bolts and nuts .................... If there was no centre console things would be fairly simple. Im originally a joiner by trade,so ive got all the tools to do it but first hand experience is always a big help in a new situation .......
  11. My mate had exactly same problem funnily enough. Winchesters wont group at all now spreading around 2" @ 50 yards ! Exact same situation. Last night we went and shot eley, cci , rws etc and he settled on the eleys which came back at around 1/4" groups.... much better I don't think they've altered the round its more than likely just a different batch and youl get this with any ammo. In 6 months time you may buy another batch from Winchester of the same ammo and it will shoot alright, in the meantime id just switch ammo....
  12. Ive purchased a Deben T bar handle and remote lamp to fit to my shogun sport. There is a centre console on roof so placement is critical as it has to be central and not off set. I originally planned on doing it myself but would I would like a neat job and obviously if im cutting a hole in the roof it needs to be right first time !! Does anyone know of, or can anyone reccomend any garages / mechanics etc who have experienceof fitting such lamps in the north east/ north Yorkshire / durham areas and if possible any idea on prices for fitting ? Thanks.
