  1. I sincerely hope that people wouldn't think that is an acceptable standard of shooting if these people are being paid to do the job!
  2. Its a Sentinel ST3. Already paid for and being collected tomorrow I'm afraid, but thanks for the heads up. I'll keep him in mind if I get a bigger one in the future.

If you are unsure mate, bring it round on Sunday. I'm sure the ackies will love it
  4. Thanks all for the help.
  5. Jonny, you are a star That is the one and I have tracked down the company and they are emailing instructions over. Isn't the internet marvellous!!
  6. Only got the model CS-2, can't find a makers name anywhere
  7. When we moved into our house, the previous owner had left a small wall safe here. It was open and I spent ages trying to guess the combination then just as I was about to throw it out I found a red button inside which reset it to the default for all safes (I believe). so basically I now have a working safe that I would like to utilise to store cartridges separately to the gun cabinet but I don't know how to set it to a new combination. Anyone got any ideas? Configuration is: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 * 0 #
  8. OK, taking the path of least worry and have ordered a pair of locks from Brattonsound £30 the pair so I still get my cabinet for £70
  9. I am collecting from him so I have his address but he doesn't have mine.
  10. Well I guess anyone, even shops, could potentially get spare sets cut for any cabinet they sell and he has assured me that as soon as they turn up they will be sent on. Just wondered how much of an issue it would be.
  11. Hi all, I have just brought a Brattonsound cabinet off ebay and the guy has messaged me saying that he has mislaid one of the sets of keys. Should I be concerned about this? He doesn't have my address as I always use the office address for eBay, but it does mean there is a set of keys out there somewhere.
  12. I ride a Triumph Daytona 955i and that's where mine comes from.
  13. I used to shoot a lot of match .177 air rifle and teach archery. Just got into clay shooting and currently applying for my certificate. Intend to do bits of game shooting when the freezer is empty . Most of my work brings me into contact with farmers around the country so hoping I can get a few permissions for when I am in different areas so there is always the opportunity to shoot as I am rarely in my home area during the summer.
  14. Studied Zoology at Uni, did some work for the National Trust and the Barn Owl Trust in Devon. Did voluntary work as an English Nature bat warden and got my bat license then applied to consultancies and wound up with the job I have now. Takes a bit of time and effort as most companies want qualifications and experience which is the tricky bit but worth it if you can get into it, get to go all over the country and see some great places.
  15. As an ecologist, a large part of my job is identifying badger setts and activity so if any members are in doubt I will do my best to identify holes from photos for them.
  16. Remember that badgers can also have outlier setts some distance from the main sett so a single hole is not always an indication that it is not badger.
  17. Everyone claiming it's 'tree huggers' are way off mark. It is about the law, plain and simple. The Protection of Badgers Act 1992 was brought in because of the levels of persecution prevalent at the time, not because of nature lovers.
  18. Read loads of posts about how good some guns are but from the point of view of someone getting started I would also find it useful to know about makes/models that should be avoided when buying a first shotgun. So come on guys, which are the guns that should be ignored at all costs?
  19. Hey everyone, just joined up on the recommendation of a friend. Names Chris and I'm looking at getting a shotgun licence. Have had lots of experience with airguns when younger and taught archery for a couple of years. Had a go at clay pigeon shooting in Cornwall last year and enjoyed it and that's how I come to be here in a nutshell. Looking forward to reading around the forum
